Like all of the other ways they take our rights first they must create a crisis which they have done by not securing our boarders. Step 2: Create laws to “fix” the crisis which seems great on the surface but the real motivation is to take away our rights.

The veil is pretty thin on the NY tax on drinks with sugar, it doesn’t take great vision to see what is really going on behind that one but people seem to be amazingly blind on much, much bigger issues like this one.

First thing I thought of when I heard the news. Think it won’t happen, I’ll put everything I own that in 10yrs we will all have some sort of “card” we have to carry at all times.
So basically if you happen to look Hispanic you no longer have any rights to privacy to protect against illegal search and seizure in Arizona. Probable cause? Who needs that when you look like an immigrant! Anything they find is fair game. And Kuppler, I absolutely wouldn’t want to be late for work or personal events all the time because some cop thought I looked like an immigrant and felt compelled to hassle me. No one would, that’s beyond ridiculous. It’s not the legal citizens’ fault that we can’t secure our borders, why should they get the repercussions? Sure, I’ve been hassled by corrupt Mexican cops, but that’s the whole reason we’re supposed to be a better country…“freedoms.” People raise hell because Arabs get profiled at airports…this is so much worse because it’s EVERYWHERE. The support for this just comes from the anger of the racist teabagger types.
If you’re OK with this, why stop there? Lets just do away with right to privacy for white people too. Odds are, they’re doing SOMETHING illegal. Since the police and such are so professional and non-biased, you have nothing to worry about. If they find something, that makes the search OK. If they don’t, “sorry about that.” Every modded car can be stripped to check for illegal parts. Every car with rims can be searched for drugs. Police State FTW.

Not to mention, the whole reason we have such an immigration problem is too many people enjoy benefitting from their cheap labor. If we made hiring illegals under the table a SERIOUS crime, and cracked down on public benefits fraud, it would solve itself. If they can’t get work, and they can’t get benefits, they’ll stay at home. We’re like the guy who gets his house infested with ants because he leaves food out all over the place, and spends his days hunting every individual ant and killing them, when all he really needs to do is clean up the damn food.

I rarely agree with your posts but I have to reluctantly agree with you this time. My family moved here to avoid being chased by the cops and having our houses and properties searched in the middle of the night just because some commie shit head in a police station decided that my family was a “threat to the country”. Before I get the usual crap from miss informed NYSpeeders about how if my familly wasnt scummy they wouldt get searched I offer this tasty little morcel. about 90% of my overseas family are in the medical field in one way or another.
Further more. This is a double edged sword because YES immigrants need to carry their papers (and allways have, cant recal the law at the moment)but on the other hand so do citizens. Now Imagine you are a citizen that looks like a mexican or whatever. You get stopped but dam you forgot your papers. Now all of the sudden you are a suspect in cuffs and in a police station. Now you are being finger printed (granted the new biometrics scanners are awesome and sure as hell beat ink) and who knows what else while your background is being checked. 4 hours later you are finally let go with out so much as an appology for your wasted time. Well shit all you wanted to do was make it to the hospital to see your firstborn child being born. Ok extreme example but just saying.
However. Before everyone starts bashing me and telling me to GTFO please let it be known that I in no way support illegal immigration. Me and my familly went through hell to do things legaly and damn it so should every other person that wants to live here.
Idk though. It just seems like rights and laws and freedoms that people fought and died for are being slowly stripped away. I understand that something needs to be done to keep people safe but there has to be something better.

I saw on cnn the other day that 60% of Americans either support the Arizona law or don’t think it goes far enough.
Wonder if that little stat will push the government to finally realize that the citizens of this country are fed up with the illegal immigration problem.
Sort of related: Kids in a Cali school were told they couldn’t wear American flag shirts on Cinco De Mayo but the “other” kids were still allowed to wear Mexico flag shirts. This country is so f’ed it is not funny.
ANYONE that tells kids to not wear American flag shirts while letting others wear foreign flags needs to be removed from this country without delay.
I could not imagine how irate i would be at the school if I had a child they told to not wear a flag shirt. I read an article about that earlier and was disgusted.
