Arrow Enterprises-Concrete Surfacing and Overlays

Are there any limitations to how much weight this stuff can hold? If I had an overlay done on an existing patio, how long would I have to wait before it could support weight?

8,000 psi developed strength. Could check on time frame but I don’t think it would very long. Twice as strong as standard driveway mix poured.

Nice. This stuff looks so good

Do my Kitchen Counter…!

Side Note: I don’t think my bathroom will happen for a while.

Wow, awesome work!!!

This looks awesome, Andy…

so this is just a coating?
you didnt remove the old tile or countertop…just went over it?

Correct. Certain preparation for each substrate. As long as it’s structurally sound. For hot tub, buy Harbor Freight wheeled furniture dollies (on sale now) lift and set tub corners, roll.

pretty cool, are the designs cut in or is a stamp used?

ok i think i just read it in the 1st post…stamped right

No sir, taped and pulled.

Andy, we’ll definitely be talking shortly after we close on the Lockport house. This is really impressive stuff.

It still amazes me how you do this…seeing Andy’s driveway in person is quite a sight…it really looks amazing…I’m just racking my brain on a way to have this done somewhere in my place…

Cmon really…thats cool. Any videos?

Check out the pics in the first post

looks like

  1. Surface Prep

  2. Base coat

  3. Tape off pattern

  4. Texture applied

  5. Tape removed giving the elevation change to simulate grout (while wet?)

  6. Apply colors & effects

  7. Epoxy coat for depth?

  8. Seal

Close enough.

Just to clarify a little. The tape creates the desired pattern and the thickness and “dryness” of the top coat determines the crispness of the edge, whether you want a clean edge of a chiseled edge look. There are also some tricks to create more contrasting color grout lines. Also, free shape stones can be created either with a specialized tape or by hand carving after the fact. Custom or dry powder coloring can also be used to highlight individual areas or create accent strips. Feel free to ask any questions and hopefully, I’ll have an answer for you.

Anywhere inside or out, as long as the substrate is sound. The going over existing tiles aspect was huge for me. Many situations where removal of existing is laborious and also creates “height” issues with adjacent floors and / or thresholds. Working on two countertops at the shop this weekend, one for the grey floor customer and one for our current bath remodel in Hamburg.

Awesome. Love this process. Showed this to Carly last night, and she flipped. The idea of being able to do some modern updates, without completely tearing a kitchen out is really attractive.

I have my kitchen done in this with the countertops and the the backsplash is made to look like the driveway. The only problem with it is that Arrow didnt do it :p. I bought the house with it all installed. Everyone that has seen it loves it and compliments it.

How does this do with uneven or pitted concrete, or concrete with cracks in it?

In talking with Andy, I believe you do a bit of prep work to level the surface/repair cracks and then apply the coating materials.
