OK I have been wanting one of these cars for a long time. I think they look pretty cool though I am not sure on performance. Is there any year I should stay away from and no I can not buy a new one as much as I would love to
you should avoid the tt altogether.
New ones are not that bad, they have more pep.
Old ones…imagine driving a VW golf, that’s the type of power you’re going to have.
They are meh. I’ll sell you my 1.8t Jetta if you’re interested lol
They are that bad. I just love the style and smooth lines.
timing belts on 1.8ts are a concern. turbos blow, boost piping has issues, electrical gremlins… drives/handles/accelerates like a small tank
so go with the larger motor. I would like to stay N/A as much as possible and build it up and put some into the suspension since I was aware they handle like shit. What year did the automatic spoiler come into play. And are most autosticks or can you find them easily with sticks.
IMO, just don’t buy a vag-product, I’ve learned my lesson after only 3 months of having this piece of shit Jetta. You’re buying a squished Beetle, that’s all the TT is.
I dunno if suspension upgrades can solve its problems - it is heavy…
No interest in the SLK or Z4?
Get the TT 225 if you want some more power
I’ve driven a chipped 225 to new jersey and it was fun, but nothing amazing in any way. Power was not the issue, it had plenty of punch, but just felt heavy and awkward and under-steer prone in turns.
I hear that the new TTs are much more of a drivers car and don’t feel like driving an A4 anymore.
says the guy driving a mid 90s grand am
honestly, the TT is the weakest of the audi lineup. can’t say much for the recent model but the one you’re likely referring to:
- is based on the GTI (garbage)
- haldex, NOT quattro (garbage)
- looks like a beetle (subjective, but as far as i’m concerned, garbage)
- somewhat heavy for its class
- unreliable by comparison to most
the 225 packs a nice punch with a chip in a straight line, but honestly it doesn’t satisfy the needs of many enthusiasts IMO. i am a big audi fan, but this is not one of the finer examples of the manufacturer.
love the style? they suck. they look like and pretty much are beatles. you and your bf might look cute in it tho
lol. walker… look at the car a little closer. it’s a joke. but yeah, he rocks like, an accord or something.
don’t listen to travisn. tt’s are fun!
How much are you willing to spend?
2003+, you can get the 3.2 vr6 quattro, which is what I would rock, and I would imagine finding a manual would be pretty easy.
Don’t listen to dawn.
Idk, just don’t.
As if they didn’t understeer enough, lets put more weight and power over the front wheels with a V6 UGH no thanks. New ones arent much of a sports car either, but DAMN I saw this exact one at the mall the other day…HOT
dawn get in the kitchen and make me a sammich! (pls?)
tt’s are tiny and slow and for girls really. I have drove/worked on a few.
do you prefer audi or the 2 door part of the tt?
2009+up are ok, but like everyone else is saying its basically like a jetta.
I love the way they look but meh on driving them.
I’m thirsty.
