BB Storm vs. Samsung Omnia (Iphones out, Omnias in!)

maybe you should go to the store and mess around with the phone first?

oh im going to tomorrow, when i decided which one im buying. i just like to know the pros and cons from someone who just wants my money.

I wouldn’t base a decision solely on the 5 megapixel camera. Everyone knows that megapixels mean nothing, it’s the sensor that counts

it’s not pointless to carry your phone and your wallet with you, but you carry both because they serve separate purposes.

end of the day you sacrifice certain things by combining everything together.

I don’t see how any other interface tops the iPhone. Not to be a humper, but in the OP when you said it’s too complicated, I simply don’t understand that. Do you mean signing up for it is too complicated?

The little things about it don’t bother me too much at all. But with all the crazy phones out right now, you should be happy with anything you get.

lol at you calling people fanboy’s and you have an iphone…

annnyways, i’ve used both and the keyboard on the storm is much better than the iphone, and it also has suretype for when you need to text/email one handed (i.e. driving). The only thing the iphone has over the storm having used both is the music function, and possibly the browser… not really sure how you say the browser is a waste of data? You probably just used it for two seconds and you couldn’t pinch and zoom and cried. It’s a full browser, which is pretty much all you can ask for on a smartphone.

don’t get me wrong i like the iphone, and i like apple products a lot. the iphone kills the storm in terms of music because of itunes and the product support for docks and shit. I have not bothered messing with the media functions of the storm because I am die hard sat. radio anyways.

also… um, BES vs. iPhone bullshit mail kills it just as hard as the iPhone kills it in regards to music.

it depends what you want it for, if you are more focused on music and surfing the web… well then the iphone is a better device. if you are more focused on having a mobile office, the blackberry is a better choice.

ON TOPIC:
The samsung may seem like a comparable alternative, but it is not going to be anything like the iphone or a blackberry. if you don’t want email or web browsing or anything, it’s probably ok. To be honest it really seems like you just want a touchscreen phone… you probably should not be upping the cash for a data plan and getting a smartphone if you don’t need one.

the fact of the matter is that there is no one phone in particular that does EVERYTHING better than any other phone.

Go to the store, use the phones and make a decision for yourself now that you know what most of the main features of each are.

100% true.

i saw a vid review of the omnia they shit all over it. the mobil windows os prevents you from fully using it without the little stylus whic doesnt get hiddin in the phone its attached to it via a string. Again i think a smart phone is a bad choice for you dude.

too late guys, i already bought the omnia and i am impressed so far, but i am def finding it to be a pain to txt on. as for the stylus, yeah it sucks that it doesnt hide away, but i find myself using the mouse located at the bottom. typing with the touch screen using your finger, is just impossible, i wont even try it.

im sorry that you guys think a smartphone is a bad choice for me, but its personal preference and something im gonna do.

well its your own opinion dude and thats all that matters, glad you pulled the trigger…

On one of the worst winmo phones available DUMBASS!!!

yuck stylus :stuck_out_tongue:

i’m not saying a smartphone is a bad choice for you, i’m just going by what you’re telling us

with verizon you can return any phone no questions asked for 14 days so you can just try both if you want.

i have 30 days to return it according to my agreement. i also pulled the trigger on getting my own account so i dont have to pay my mother every month, its getting kind of old and i would like to build the credit for myself.

i find myself not using the stylus tho, the mousepad at the bottom works really well once you get a feel for it. kind of defeats the purpose of having a touch screen, but theres so much more with this phone that i can look past it.

iv never had a phone with a built in FM tuner, as crazy as that sounds lol

also the 5 megapixel camera is a huuuuuuge plus considering it takes awesome pictures, ill post up a shot although im sure you prob wont be able to tell the difference.

lol. you can own a product and not be a fanboy.

i agree 100% with everything else you said though. i talked to a couple people today with iphones and others with storms. i think the keyboard preference really just comes down to what you’re used to. i thought it was awful on the storm, but i spent the first 3 days with my iphone thinking that keyboard was awful.

i think we’re seeing eye to eye on the fanboy, i was just basically just saying because i have a blackberry and like it it doesn’t mean i’m any more of a fanboy than you are for having an iphone and liking it.

but regardless yes, it is a phone and a personal preference. thats why they make a million different phones. if there was one perfect phone for everyone then they would make that and only that :stuck_out_tongue:
