they do, for single line plans, its basically the price of any calling plan, plus $30. BUT you get the corporate provisioning, so unless your on a server it doesnt benefit you THAT much, unless you have an employer discount that somehow gives your a larger discount off your monthly access than off data.
edit: unless your talking about data only plans. if so those do exist not as well, it may only be for business though. i dont remember
what if I am the primary line on a family share? same +30?
also, I have some other blackberry questions. Maybe someone can answer them.
My company does not have a BlackBerry Server. So basically, I will setup my email account and thats it, I am on my own.
Is there a VPN program out there to allow me to remote into to my network at work? Also, along with that, I would require an SSH Client to remotely manage servers. Can this be accomplished? Does anyone have specific details for this so that if I decide to get a blackberry, I will have a plan of attack? This would really relieve a lot of pressure for my on-call times.
for a family plan no, it would be the $30 feature you would add on, this will not give you the corporate provisioning, what you would need to get on your companies server. its a BES right? like not just a webmail you can access from home that everyone has setup on the bb’s right? if its an enterprise server your IT department would set it up for you, only thing you would want check into is what kind of blocks they then put on it. also, if your on their server they tech can log EVERYTHING you do on the device. so you kind of need to decide/find out how secure/anal they are with the server. and as far as remotely managing servers i am not sure.
last time i had a BB… the 8830 i believe i just setup the standalone license of whatever blackberry server you can get free with a phone on our exchange server.
its not full blown BES, but it also was not the desktop redirector… not sure what it was called
i installed some software on our server… i got a free license with my phone, can’t remember at all what it was. It had BES like features in terms of remote management
Eh, mixed reviews. Probably go there tomorrow play with this and the Curve and decide on the spot. Anyone know how hard it is to transfer numbers between devices?
As far as I know, it’s pretty simple. I think you just tell customer service you want to activate a new phone and they will do it for you. It’ll probably take a couple minutes in-store and you’ll be all set
