all im looking for is ideas. basically i want mine to be safe enough that even if they did a search of the car they wouldnt find the unit but still easy enough that i can get the tape/disk easily without much work.

cheap enough for me to mount it outside the car during track days as well
althought i always have my DC w/ me wherever i go… but this will be better for motion pictures(i think lol)
