best winter tires for 97 240sx...need opinions

what are the best winter tires you can recommend for my 240sx
size: 205/55/16

and also how would you also reduce your chances at fishtailing, im new to rear wheel drive, a big noob

man i was to get rear tires again for my car i would get some 225’s 60’s…the biggest u can go before ur speedo changes

thats 20mm extra of tread

Best: Tercel, Corolla, Sentra, any other little beater to drive while your car sits comfortably in a garage so it doesn’t rust to shit.

In snow, narrower is better.

185/60/16 would be awesome, but the stock size is fine. Look for Nokian Hakkapelitas or Bridgestone Blizzaks… there are quite a few other good winter models.

i have also heard that thinner is better, but why. i forgot the reason.

cuts into the snow cuz its thinner. less surface area less spin i assume?

less area to cover, so you can “cut” through the snow easier… so if the wheels are wider, you also need a lot more weight in order to get some traction, otherwise you would be sliding all over the place…

Wider tires will just push the snow, make a wall and then your stuck.

I bought a set of Dunlop SP Winter Sport M3 last winter from a guy who pulled them off his Bimmer. Awsome tires and maybe the only Z speed rated winter tires you can buy.

or u get 235/45/17 yokohoma ice guards

that i am currentluy selling

NOKIAN HAKAS

YOU WANT IT

YOU NEED IT

youd be amazed how fantastic these tires are
