If I was a person that stopped (which I would stop…but 5-10 mph over doesn’t get me pulled over…) and he asked me to rat out the guy that ran away my response would be “I don’t even know who that guy was, met him while driving and we just started to cruise together”
i suppose they could try to hit them with obstruction, but even that would be more of a stretch/scare tactic. as long as they stood by a story stating that they didn’t know him and just ran into him in traffic, there’s not a whole lot that can be done about it.
edit:^^^ beat me to it.
I agree with the part that no one deserves to die but he should have thought about his family when he ran and the chances he was taking. Not only did he put his life in danger he put everyone on the roads lives in danger.
Edit: We all do dumb shit and take chances. I’m guilty as hell of that but when I get pulled over I do just that, pull over.
this sums everything up perfectly.
talking about reckless motorcycles:
I almost hit three cycles on the way to work in the past week cause they were doing 80 or 90 BETWEEN the lanes, swerving in between cars, just being dumbasses. My dad was a a biker, I grew up in a biker bar (well, I went a lot), it just gives a bad name to the good bikers.
anyway, RIP, its really sad and my condolences to his friends and family.
This exact thing happened to me.
They threatened my friends with arresting them, towing their bikes, and an obstruction of justice arrest.
my one friend was a pussy and turned me in, and the police showed at my house.
Kinda sucked.
I got a text lastnight from my friend Maria, apparently shes dating this kids’ brother. Anyways she asked me if i heard about a motorcycle accident and I replied with there was one at S&R but it wasnt bad, dude just dumped it in the grass on the little road in the woods after the track. She replied this mornign with no there was a different one, my bf’s brother got killed lastnight running from the cops. Apparently he was at S&R enjoying some drinks and then decided to speed on the way home, not too smart. I dont know why ppl try to outrun cops. In my mind you can outrun a car but you cant outrun a motorola. I actually seen him last night there drink a beer by his bike in the inner loop, had a nice r6. I dont know, it sucks but he shouldnt have been drinking and riding, or riding crazy. Rip.
If you were a decent friend you would never have put him in that situation.
Sums it up.
Nope, never in my life. You can’t bead radio and I’m not that dumb to try something like that.
My brother in law led cops on a chase about 17 years ago, lost his license for a year. Noone was hurt, but it was stupid for him to do, he realized it and hasn’t done it ever again.
RIP to the biker, but it was a stupid move that lead to the ultimate consequence. Thanksfully no one else was injured or killed.
As stated in the S&R Cruise night thread, a group of 12 bikers on Genessee in the middle lane cut right into my lane in front of my truck without looking or even signalling. My truck > your bike in a case like this. You see too much assclowning and carelessness on bikes lately. But trying to outrun cops at 100mph, passing a police barracade, alcohol, etc, you know nothing good could come out of it.
I work at Main/Transit, and almost EVERY bike that I saw last night was driven by a maniac. Some idiot was driving down Main St. flooring it over and over trying to pop wheelies going 60 mph. WTF
wow, missed this one. no, i have never run from the cops. you’re willing to risk your life and the lives of others over a speeding ticket (or whatever)? absolutely brilliant.
I like how in the one news video the reporter says at the end “we’ll continue to follow this story and deliver any updates”…what further updates can there be? Run, crash, dead…the end.
Sounds like the guy had gotten away…cops said he was out of sight…he shoulda made a few quick turns and he was home free (other than them most likely having his plate # lol)
and his friends. lol also a very very very tight area where he went down, 30 mph zone, and there is no shoulder or turn lane
Why were you running from the police. I know I know they just have it out for you.
RIP.
I have never run from the police…
Well, his lights were never on and he was going the other direction until I passed.
Friend and I split, he pulled over friend and proceeded to follow him back to work and write me a ticket in the parking lot when I returned.
Its easy to go fast on a bike. Everyone is getting more comfortable now that they have a few weeks of seat time. There is sure to be much more ass hattery in the near future.
I just rode by on my way to work to grab a socket for my sprocket and it looks like his bike and him traveled pretty far after impact, the street has bright orange circles and symbols painted everywhere and there is oil/blood/whatever else residue on the blacktop everywhere. Ohh and sexy ass melissa holmes from channel 4 was out front doing what I guess was a “further update”.
Just saw on the 12o’clock news on channel 4 that they found a suicide note
Something about “this was his last ride” and it went on from there
Wrong it was on his facebook from over a week ago. Doubt it was suicide.
he had a quote on his facebook, i believe it was from a song, about his last ride. i don’t know if he actually meant anything by it or if it was just a strange coincidence.
a suicide note? what?
