when my 91 gsx tranny went, it took out the diff also:( i had 1000 in the tranny , 1000 in the diff and 350 for a centerforce clutch afterwards.

cottman is the devil !!! my 180 hp monte carlo w/ crappy cant spin em even with fabric softner gears even blew up there rebuilt performance tranny hahahahahah
tre won’t warrentee stuff like that either if it’s broke under what they consider abuse i have already dealt with tre and will never again. also 900 for a rebuild…you should have seen what tre wanted for just a basic rebuild and i had problems with them…shep is the only guy i’d ever trust to build the tranny. if it’s not an axle it doesn’t explain why it does it on left hand turns.

i pulled the axles today and other than torn boots they’re ok, i have yet to drop the transfer case on it to see where the leak was coming from but there were some big metal shavings on my drain plug. i have a feeling its the center diff afterall.

well i found out where the leak was from, the bellhousing around the ring gear is cracked 8" around. it would have had to have cracked right before i pulled over with how fast i lost the fluid (seconds) so whatever broke inside took out the bellhousing too
awd sux; abuse it to go fast and break it quick

right now i’m waiting to hear back from shep to see what he says, if he wont’ warrenty it im probably looking at doing it myself again (which i didn’t wanna do) but at that point i’ll need to find an awd 2g bellhousing cheap. IF he says he’ll do it i just need to get the tranny to him…i’m thinking about buying another one just to have in case.

my man butch out in bethel park, i forget the shop name but its right by 84 lumber/cool springs, he’s the man. I never blew one of his tannys for faulty work, the one i did blow was cause my tranny cooler got clogged and he redid it without labor cost. Of course shawn builds a nice 200r4 also.
i don’t know, i have a feeling it’s not gonna get warrentied and i’ll be sol. if anyone has any leads on a 2g awd tranny (all i need is a good bellhousing so if the trannys shot i could care less) but it does have to be 2g because the motor mounts are on the tranny not the motor.
I will keep a watch out. and shep should warrenty it if it was a part he installed. I know TRE would if they did the work.
I hope my car doesn’t break but my luck has to run out sometime…I just hope it is not something big
