Body panel repair?

unless theres something wrong with the old paint on the rest of the bumper you do not have to strip it, just sand it to prep it for the clear so it has some scratches to adhere to

if thats what you are refering to, you can wet sand the non damaged area with 1000 wet or get a tube of scuff paste and a gold colered scuff pad

I was thinking about stripping it because there is a lot of spider wbbing in the paint that on it now.

da it down with some 220, prime it sand it paint it,

Buy a new bumper, most likely cheaper in the long run…

If u do use the old one u do know u have to add flex additive to the paint and clear right

(EDIT) I just saw the pics, go but a new one, it will be easier, cheaper and will look wayyyyyy beter then what it would turn out looking like if you go through trying to repair it.

probably would be cheaper or easier to buy a new bumper or maybe not, you ever consider just takeing it somewhere to get it done,

did it yesterday, will paint it on Sunday…

The place I bought the paint at says this aint true. You only need to add flex to the clear, not the base.
Have read the same all over the net. Base gets no flex, clear does.

Why take it somewhere whe I can screw it up myself?

Honestly, I look at this as a learning curve. If it turns out as good or better than it is now, I learned I can do something else. If it turns out to be total crap, I will buy a new one, and I have learned that I cant paint. either way it becomes a $200.00 learning class for me.

is it done yet???

Today was my only day off this week, so I took the day off. It will be done, as in panels back on the car, by thursday. more pics to come…

Metal glaze makes a flexable filler, Feather the scratches out with a DA fill it with that flex filler then sand it level, try not to sand with nothing more than 180 grit and final sand it with 320/400. Prime it with ppg 275 that the best I think, after its dry guide coat it and block it flat with 320 then scuff the whole bumper with 500 wet or a Grey scotch brite pad. Clean real good with ppg DX330, then base and clear it.
