Boring college student rant

Today was probably one of the most productive days I have had in a long time. It started off early at about 8AM. I rose like normal, sucked down some cereal while my cat stared me down, and proceeded to dress myself for success for my interview at 11.

Went to the interview and completely ACED it. I was told that I will be hearing from the VP of the company on Monday to see whether or not I got the job as branch manager for the Albany area (we deal with exterior residential painting). Basically, if all goes well, I will be in charge of my own painting company for the summer, so I am pretty excited.

I then ate lunch and proceeded to my current job where I muffed around for something to do. I then came up with a somewhat brilliant idea:

Take one of the largest shipping boxes that we have, and put something ridiculously small inside of it, and mail it to somebody. :lmao

Here’s a picture of the box next to my desk so you can get an idea of just how big the thing really is:

So what I did was I wrote up a formal letter basically saying nothing and put it inside of the box as seen below:

A simple letter wasn’t enough in my mind, so I came up with something creative to represent a packing list and slapped that on my shipment as well:

Around this time my boss got out of his meeting, so I threw the box into the freight elevator at the end of my hallway and carted the thing down to shipping/receiving. I used a heavy duty pull cart so people thought that I had something heavy inside of the box. :lmao

Now you see, the funny thing about this is where the package is going. I sent it to my friend who lives on campus at Siena. If any of you have ever been to the post office there, you would know that the post office is TINY. Picture a 12x24 room as the post office itself, a TINY hallway leading to the reception desk that can barely fit 2 people across, and then thousands of mailboxes on the other side of the hallway.

So, this poor girl is going to get the slip of paper in her SPOB box saying she has a package, and then will be handed this HUGE box in exchange. The post office is in the student union, so it is constantly packed with students. :rofl

Just imagine this poor girl opening this HUGE box only to find one slip of paper inside. I can only imagine how she is going to feel when she gets this tomorrow. And due to the shear size of it, she won’t be able to just shrug it off and throw it in the garbage can, either.

OMG dont tell me College Pro

i lol’d

wat? :rofl

I hope you don’t get the job and get fired for wasting company resources.

What’d it cost to ship that? $40?

Hilarious, but still…a bit presumptuous, no?

It cost $9.74 out of my checking account to ship. UPS goes by weight, not size.

The box was going to be thrown out anyway…

Oh ok.

Best of luck then! :rofl

I’ll try to post her response on here somehow when she gets the package tomorrow. :lol

Fuck her response just post pics of her as long as she’s not a 300 pound land whale.

LMAO

This is her and I at her boyfriends’ house (very nice place) on Long Island for her surprise birthday party:

Not bad.

x2

Is it?!

i lolled

Congrats on the interview but FYI if it is college pro painting you are in for a shit load of headaches. College pro blows.

IT’S Collegiate Entrepreneurs.

College Pro ftl.

And I got a text from her today saying “You’re an asshole.”

Mission accomplished. :rofl

Tomato, Tamato. :ponder

It’s through Siena. It’s a great opportunity and will look great on my resume.

Why are you against this College Pro program anyway?

i wouln’d nessicarly say that… it cost me 20$ to ship 2 rotors and 2 calipers that weighed 65lbs.

then i sold an axle back muffler that was about 3ftby 1ft by 1ft and its was 45 to ship…

All of the UPS shipments (aside from freight) leaving my office go by weight and not size.

:number1

well all shipping orders were ground to residential and the weight mattered less then size… just going by my personal experiance…
