BOV on SR20det, stalling and SAFC??

SOOOO I would like to know if a SAFC can fix the stalling problem on my SR20det that is runnign a VTA BOV. Or does a SAFC only work on a pre determined map and can’t be used to control spikes or drops in air intake in real time??

Or has anyone been able to correct this w/o switching MAF’s or going back to re-circ or re-prog the ECU??

THanks,

Chris

I doubt an SAFC will fix your problem, its is more for fine tuning your A/F stuff at certain RPM. Your problem is more to do with too much air being lost out the BOV. If i were you i would just go with re-circ. Just sounds like that BOV is just letting out so much air that you just go super rich when you let off the gas after boosting.

tighten your bov.

Mine runs fine with a open to atomsphere bov. It is kind of tight tho, you can hear a little surge at like 1 psi.

You can mess with te DECEL function to fix the problem. It seems to work on a good % of guys.

switch to a less ricey BOV to prevent all your air from being vented and the car literally “flooding”.

or buy a HKS EIDS to prevent this from happening

has anyone figured out how to set the Deceleration Air (DEC AIR) function on the S-AFC 2? it’s supposed to lean the mixture out off throttle to prevent overly rich conditions with open atmosphere BOVs.

Well my BOV isn’t “ricey” at all. It does exactly what a BOV is intended to do but every now and then I’m still stalling if I’m not heel toeing to a stop.

That HKS EIDS would be great, but a little pricey to fix my problem. I was asking if the AFC can fix it as at least (well I think at least) it can do more then the EIDS.

I will help but wont fix the problem, I am running this set up. I think im going to re circ my BOV…
