Just make sure you do the right flare for it. Not everyone knows theres more than one type of flare.
the spool of it is easier to use you can bend it with ur hands.
yeaahhhhhhhh!!
Yea I didnt know there were 2 different types until the guy at AutoZone asked me which one it was. Anyone know what a 99 Honda accord has? Apparently theres also 2 different flare tool kits.

Is it easier because maybe its thinner?

I asked if they made coated lines that wouldn’t rust and I was told no.
What do you think about coating the lines with either a rustoleum black spray paint or maybe that plastidip spray? I cant imagine it would do any harm. I can see his accord last another 5-8 yrs so while we are there, why not protect them. Whats another $8 and 30mins
If the original lines lasted 13 years (I’m assuming they’re original?), do you really think the lines are going to go again in just another 5-8 years?
If you go and buy a spool from Napa, then yes, absolutely. In fact, you’ll be lucky to get 5-8 years…most of them are not coated, and are not nearly the quality of OEM.
I did all new brake and fuel lines for the Corrolla, got the best lines (coated) Napa had to offer (from Skrapper at Kenwood Services, who rules), and even those have me wondering re. longevity…
easiest way to figure out what flares it has is to remove the old fittings and look.
Good to know…didn’t know how the quality compared to OEM.
Im guessing they are OEM and Im thinking NAPAs tubing is less then OEM. I figured what a little more protection. I hear ya 91MR2
Ok I will have to look at the flares.
So just wondering how much I am saving I called Monore muffler and they said parts and labor is $500-600. I then wanted to get a laugh and called the dealer…$1600. I laughed out loud and the tech said well thats 2lines and a fuel line. Were gonna do it right and replace everything. Thumbs up for doing the job 110% but thumbs down to $1600 LOL WTH!
The Nicop nickle copper line is light years ahead of the regular bulk line you’re talking about. I know exactly what you’re talking about and you’re absolutely right, but there is new stuff available now that lasts much longer if longer than a 90’s Accord has left to live.
welcome to $100+ an hour for labor and 3x markup on parts. you could seriously do this in the driveway/garage in a couple of hours on a saturday.
I just fixed one on my truck, cost me $5.99 plus brake Fluid and about an hours work.
X…
i know my suggestion seems the most expensive but doing stuff the right way isnt cheap
i replaced all 3 like the honda tech suggested and in total it cost me 400 but I know my brakes arent going to go out on me anytime soon
What was your know-how, mechanical ability, and time worth though? I pay to get my taxes done every year, for a good reason. I pick my battles, and I won’t every lie on my back to work on a car ever again after having a lift in my garage for the past year.
Thanks guys. That sure was easy! Wound up doing both lines. Hardest part was going to passenger rear since the original line goes up and over the gas tank. Just ended up cutting that out and snaking a new line through. Total cost was around $50, including food and drinks =)
SO GLAD we did it the install. Flaring wasn’t bad either.
Thanks again
 Good job
