Buffalo Police Brutality?

I just saw a news article about a kid who was spitting blood on cops and claiming he had Hep. C.

Eh, I see your point, I just don’t agree with it.

I can only imagine the BS they deal with on a daily basis being a BP officer. People do dumb shit and then when they push the cop to their breaking point, they cry victim. This guy put everyone in danger when he ran from them and he had drugs on him.

Again, if he really was spitting on them, then he deserved the treatment he got.

Whether you believe he deserved it or not, it is still not the place of the officer to engage in that manner.

I think that the guy is an obvious criminal who deserves more than what he got. He put lives in risk by running from the police. Is it justified to kick him while he is cuffed on the ground? nope. They had plenty of other methods of restraining him and making him miserable that they could have used. They could have cuffed his legs and basically hog tied him face down and that would fall under proper restraint. One of the 6 or so cops had to have a spit net in their car they could have thrown on his head. Fact is this guy lost his composure and it was mis judgment. If I lose my cool at my job and do something stupid I expect repercussions, not necessarily termination but my contract ALWAYS lists disciplinary action as up to and including termination.

See a big problem is we live in a society where “You get what you deserve” no longer applies because someone will sue you, your mother, and all your dead relatives…and win. I’m not saying that cops should be allowed to run around the street and beat people up, but If someone spits on someone, I’d fully expect a punch or kick or something to be thrown. I don’t care if you are the fucking pope. The cops could have gotten their licks in while trying to cuff him and nobody would say anything. They took it a bit too far…yes, but I don’t feel an ounce of sympathy for this asshole.

All feelings aside.

Right is right and wrong is wrong in the eyes of the written law.

Wearing a badge does not put you above right, wrong or the law.

Would you hit someone who couldn’t defend themselves? If you said no, then odds are you are a decent person who knows the difference between right and wrong. If you said yes then you are a bully. Only bullies pick on people who are obviously defenseless and or crippled in some way.

STAY OUT OF MALIBU, LEBOWSKI!

Not a single person in this thread claims to have sympathy for him.

Huh? You’re disagreeing that the officer broke the law?

I fully agree.
