built 400+whp integra gsr..reliable transportation?

The answer is no.

agree

It probably could be reliable if you don’t beat on it frequently.

My new set up is on, shes purring like a kitten :), tuning time and then hopefully I last. Depends on how your treat her. That is my answer for this thread.

:wave::scott::thankyou::ohyeah:

yes, cuz its a HONDAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Nah you’re way to cheap and broke you won’t build it properly…

+1

The reason turbociv and mindless can DD their cars is because they’re adults and not Southgate fuckups.

probably true.

also, an integra GSR bone stock is probably not that reliable of transportation anyways at this point, i mean at best its fucking 9 years old.

if it was built right, and driven by an adult, it would last.

If it was hacked together and beaten on like a readheaded stepchild, shit won’t last at all.

If the car has been rebuilt, and all quality parts are used, and it is driven responsibly then it should last. If not it will go boom.

My car has maybe 2x stock power, I beat the crap out of it, and it has lasted me just fine so far.

You also don’t daily drive it.

EDIT: Daily driving means its the only car you have on the road and you drive it daily, not well its raining so I’m not going to drive it, or I’m going to the mall etc.

Ha true I guess I only truly daily drove the corvette for a total of about 6 months. 3 months before I modded it one summer before I purchased my Jeep, then another 3 months when I first moved down here before I purchased the BMW.

To tell you the truth after driving the car for say a week, I really stopped beating up on it. I guess it was because I was used to it?

i dont see why it wouldnt last
get a good set of axles, a nice lsd and proper turbo/block and 400whp is no problem

400whp on a b series is the “cookie cutter” build anymore

I’m surprised it took to the second page for someone to mention the quality of parts used and build quality. Those things are just as important as anything else. A barebones build, the way many Hondas are built, will not be reliable. Those that build towards reliability will be much more likely to have it.

You just can’t be an idiot about it, really. Build everything to the best of your ability, and be sure to buy the RIGHT PARTS and install them correctly.

My car made 5x the stock HP on a stock gears/pistons/axles. Sure I’m going to replace them eventually, but as long as you’re not a retard you’ll be ok. Now, for track use I always fully expect to blow trans’/axles like none other, but last year I was lucky enough to not have an issue. I still drive my car every day on the street and havn’t had a single issue in 1.5 years.

wow

2 weeks later you say wow… Why?

Agreed. Unless you’re replacing every component in the drivetrain, with something specifically designed for longevity and power, you’re going to break things. And if you do, you’re probably going to break things.

I agree with the “depends” answer, because you could probably do it right, and if you don’t beat on it, but if you’re not completely thorough, and you’re beating on it (I think most people doing power mods fall into one category or the other, if not both), you’re probably going to pay before too long.
