i would say scspeeds car is a lot more reliable transportation than scotts car
when i built the car i would rather spend an extra 1k doing all gaskets, water pump, oil pump, belts, hoses everything, rather than having something go and blowing up a 4000$ motor
and i stil suggest doing a 250wheel tune and a high hp tune
I drove my 400+ whp neon daily, and never had a problem. I drove it to the track put on slicks, ran 11’s, drove it home. I drove it from North Carolina to Rochester and got near 27 mpg, and it was comfortable.
All depends on how you treat it, how well its built, and how well you maintain it. Look at emery’s evo, that motor lasted him years before it let go, and the only reason it let go was because of a missed shift! He always changed the oil, changed plugs, had his tranny refreshed, and stayed on top of every little thing, and it was very reliable.
i’d almost agree with you, IF IT WAS A STOCK MOTOR. If the motor is actually built for boost with the right parts, there is no reason it can’t be reliable as long as its tuned correctly
