Burning Oil: Turbo or Engine?

Hey guys.
i got the CA18et.

recently the car would smoke at stop lights when it idles.
it only does it when the engines warm and only after its been driven then stoped like at a light.
its doestnt smoke while driving at all.

it smells like oil or something burnging all the time (straight though pipe)
and … well it smells like something is always burning but no smoke comes out of it…
the oil level doens’t go down though…

i dont know. im thinking its either seals or rings or gasket from the engine? or can it be the turbo seals dying?

is there a way to stop or control it without replacing hardcore stuff?
. any imput is appreciated. thanks

ps. would thicker oil be and allternative???

didnt read past the part where you said you had a CA…

boourrns. I drive a 200sx…

Might be some oil in your cats, or if your PCV is still routed into your turbo that might be the source of the burning oil…

no cat :expressionless:

the PCV shouldn’t be spitting out that much oil…

the oil smells like gas now…

and when the car is warmed up,… it exhaust spits out blue smoke…

I tried 10w40… then tried 20w50… both of them smoke after warmup

I’m soo confused… if it’s the turbo seal… woudln’t it be smoking at startup?

and what can explain the oil smelling like gas? am I just runing to rich or is the rings on the way out?

CA rules all only because bing doesnt like it.

CA all the way.

bing stole my keys.

If it’s your turbo the turbo needs to heat up before it’ll burn anything, the oil on start up is probably from oil leaking through your valve seals into your cylinders. The smoking after that sounds like your turbo.

Check for oil leaks on the exterior of your motor as well.

If there is gas in your oil, the could be because of leaky seals, or rings. Pop off the oil cap and check for excessive blowby. If there is alot of blowby, not only are you probably burning oil from it leaking past the rings but chances are your pushing alot of oil back into your turbo through the PCV.
