burning oil WOT

so i got a 2000 GTI with the APR stage3 kit and it burns oil at WOT and you can feel it and smell it. im thinking the turbo seals are shot, whats your thoughts. o and i dont notice any smoke unless in boost.

ps: kit was installed at 42k and now has almost 93k. so almost 51,000 miles on the turbo.

Any smoke on cold start or at idle?

nope

and when i did the front end, i took off some intercooler pipes and low and behold oil.

It’s possible but normally would smoke on start up
It any shaft play?

What about the PVC?

no idea as its on the car. and as far as i know the PVC is all intact.

Stupid autocorrect bullshit!

haha PCV

can u even remove the PCV from these cars without massive codes going off?

you can slap 2 breathers on the valve cover/block and the ecu wont know shit.

If the turbo seals arnt shot, and its the PCV, you need a KrazyKidKatchKan.

IE makes a block vent adapter to -10 o-ring port (so you can use AN or pushlock/hose fittings)

then pull off the valve cover, give it to me to drill & tap another fitting or weld on a AN/pushlock fitting.

Line from each of the above to the catch can. Vent it with a filter, or recirculate it to how ever that thing has an intake setup.

The stock PCV doesnt do shit, at all actually.

how many PSI is that thing set to. More than likely the seals are shot. 50Kmi, 2nd or more hand big turbo 1.8T car… is going to see a flogging here and there.

if its around 22psi and has been for a while, thats a hard life for a turbo.

My guess is turbo seals or pcv shit clogged . When you were on it the other night it smelled like complete shit.

Laduke king of the turbs has spoken

manny, bring it by sometime man

20 psi ish.

im thinking its one or both. i pray its not the rings.

if it were the rings I would think its going to blow by 24/7 for the most part.

it could be a plugged up vent on the case. Which would pressurize the block and help force oil past the rings.

ugh! i havnt had a 1.8t since i was 20 and i forgot where all this shit is. someone halp!!!

Crank vent: Fitting is clipped/pressed into the top of the oil filter housing… under the intake mani. unbolt all the SAI shit attached to the intake manifold with 2, 10mm nuts, and push that shit out of the way. BAM its right under there, you will see it.

Valve cover vent: Its on the valve cover, top right rubber dick looking thing hanging off just above some coolant lines and shit.

Both meet at a sexy rubber Y hose that always dry rots and falls apart/leaks like shit. then that bitch heads off to the turdbo inlet pipe and shit.

LIKE WOA

lol volkswagens

3/4 in hose from valve cover, 3/4 hose from oil filter housing, plastic “T” then run hose under neath car and dump it where the cross member is where the DP meets the catback… thats what i did with mine, had the same iussue.
