Can you weld 1020 Forged Steel?

Well, can you?

get out the nickle rods!

Nickle whaaaat

Sure can. Higher nickle content filler is the way to go, clean the shit out of it and toss it in the oven to preheat it.

What is it, any pics?

whatchuwant? mo steerin angle?

Ohh and 309L rod can work too if nickle cant be found locally and/or reasonably priced.

MOD MY KNUCKLES BITCHES. Pretty much cut like 20mm off the tie-rod ‘nub’ on the knuckle, and weld it back together, making sure to stay in line with the original hole so the ackerman doesn’t change. Ya dig?

before up top, after after.

Can do.

That would be a “repair” cast iron weld (same base metals) so I can get some tech 55 or tech 99 filler rod to do the work.

FYI for people reading this, if it were a cast iron exhaust manifold you were putting a mild or stainless turbo flange or something on it requires a ni/alloy rod to fuse dissimilar cast materials.

When ever you get the knuckles off, lets meet up and I can have them done in a day or 2.

Hit me up on FB and we can iron (no pun intended) out the details.

Narfle the garthok.

I’d bet those knuckles are cast steel and not cast iron.

That’s what I said.

coneheads FTW!

WAS NOT!:ahh

I saw that!

I will consult the magic interwebs prior to filler rod selection. and/or do a grind test to see if its iron or steel. :number1

More to this than just filler selection and preheating.
