yeah but they told me “there is no water in our gas” :bloated: lol…I have gotten gas 1 time with that car, and that was only $5 to get me to uni mart for white man gas.
still havent answered what the year, make and model is.
I’m not saying that, I’m saying this may be a good time to get around to neglected routine maintenance.
His profile says he’s got '89 and '92 Probe GT Turbo’s, one being the donor car.
sorry, yeah its a 92 probe gt 2.2 ltr turbo 5 speed POS
guys… he clearly stated (if thats even possible for JEG) that this is a new problem, and not one that has slowly prevented the car from running.
He recently did some work to the car (clutch + intake pipe replacement)
Why the hell would the plugs all of a sudden go bad?
JEG - Your most recent description sounds kinda like a fuel filter… enough fuel seeps through it to start the car, but once you see revs it runs out of gas…
check all of your vacuum hoses… these hoses were most likely removed during one of the procedures that were just completed on the car.
The coolant temp sensor is busted, My friend Justin said that would cause the super rough/lack of idle. any other thaughts on that?
negatory.
on hondas it cause a not start not on anal probes
no it wont, but did i do that?? if so, if it looks like i busted it moving the motor and tranny around, let me know and i will replace it
I dunno but i should have one in the parts car, ill take a look tomarrow. Im just really stumped as to why its running like shit. The oil is fine, when i drove it home the oil pressure was fine, temp was fine, voltage was fine…i really dont know what the problem could be. I took of the distributor cap and it doesnt have moisture in it. hmmm i dunno.
while the motor is running, spray carb cleaner around the engine bay (near vacuume lines)… if the engine surges/revs, you found your leak. If not, I would also suggest changing out the fuel filter… it’s amazing what a difference that will make.
what kind of shape are your cats/cat in? is the car throwing the MIL light on? If it’s mass air, try cleaning the sensor with a q-tip and contact cleaner (be very careful with it, as it’s very fragile). Also, did you try cleaning the IAC valve?
he can’t even keep it runnin so finding a leak will be difficult.
i can keep it running as long as im giving it gas, altough it runs kinda rough, i can feather the gas enough to keep it goin. Ill try that today with the carb cleaner…ill have to buy some.
does this car have a vac/boost gauge? If so you can tell if it has a vac leak buy looking at how much vacum it has.
it has a stock boost gage, i cant rev it high enough to boost. I talked to Big Hands and he told me to drive it and see if that helps reseting the computer…well i just had it out, it helped alittle bit, when it was warmed up alittle more it would just hold an idle at like 4,800 rpms. I still cant drive it over like 3500 rpms though…I think maby its from the turbo starting to spool…once this happens it starts choking out and sputtering. any ideas?
detach turbo
i duno how to do that and not fuck things up.
don’t detach the turbo, that would be dumb.
sounds like u got a fuel problem bro, if its getting boost and forcing too much air into the motor and not enough fuel, then that will happen. u might have to put a guage on the fuel system and test it out.
