Career choices ITT

Troll you so much? I think your the one who quoted me first. Don’t flatter yourself. More then 3/4 of the shit you post is shit and I could care less to read, but when you quote on something of course I’m going to chime back in

If it was easy though, everybody would be doing it.

+rep!!

Meh i have my days but im pretty happy where I’m at now. I don’t get paid nearly what I should but it comes with a lot of freedoms and the potential to turn into something big. I actually don’t mind being here at work, i dont think wow I hate my job.

Taking a pay cut to enjoy where you work? Worth it to me, especially in a day where people are making crazy money and are the most miserable fucks ive met in my life :rofl

You replied first to the “learn to ride” comment I made, taking every word i wrote like it was chiseled in stone and said I was totally wrong. Just like this one.

yeah I quoted you, but it was a reply AT you, it was a reply to the thread using your 2cents as a backer for my opinion. Then apparently you thought I was calling out your field of expertise, aka choo choo trains, when all I said was working in a worthless loop of repetitiveness motions blows.

Open your eyes grasshopper to a broader picture painted in text on the interwebz. :number1

would have stopped being ni99er rich and bought my fathers business while I had the chance… Some old jewish guy with absolutely no background of the business bought it and now makes $20-30k a week… :frowning:

I’m not going to play tit for tat on post’s i’ve called you out on because I know it’s more then those 2 i’m sure. That isn’t what this is about.

Grasshopper? ok Mr. Miogi!

Railroad Retirement > 401K.

Definitely. I do contribute to 401k as a rainy day fund for down the road.

Without a doubt.
I wish I had RR here but since were are a private contractor - no such luck.

That sucks. Who do you dispatch for again? I just took promotion to dispatcher and leave Sunday for school.

I quoted you but this isnt just towards you… I cant understand why people choose there life long carreers BECAUSE of retirement… Your going to work like a slave for 50 years to collect retirement you cant even use when your in a wheel chair or a nursing home? Maybe its just me but id rather enjoy my life when im young without health issues then when im 80 with a million bucks stuck in my bed 22 hours a day…

I dont think ive ever seen a homeless old person… retirement or not, elderly people always seem to be put somewhere and at that age money is less important then toilet paper.

prolly just marry a rich girl, or become a pornstar if i had a bigger dick, or a race car driver if i had a bigger dick

While I don’t work for the RR I have several friends that do. They work the job because they make 50k+ a year w/ great benefits and the retirement is phenominal. Plus most of them work night and the two of them that are motivated are working at gettting their own businesses running during the day. Is the job itself great no not really but the pay and benefits and the security of employment are awesome.

THIS!

I better not and hopefully everyone here doesn’t have to work 50 years. I have 32 years left with the railroad to collect my full pension and for my wife to collect half of it. That’ll make me 60 and still able to enjoy retirement.

Yea man, it’s on their pensions. My wife’s grand parents are in nursing homes and their monthly expenses to be taken care of and live there are OUTRAGEOUS! If it wasn’t for his RR retirement they would be homeless!

$50k a year is only $1,000 a week… less actually. And benefits can be had for relitively cheap without working for someone to be honest… Im about to sign up for health insurance thats only $340 a month.

You can’t beat the pension and health benefits working for the railroad, especially if you’ve got a family to take care of. Realistically making $50k a year is entry level or your simply lazy!

At 60 years old you wont be into cars anymore… your married but if single you wont be able to go out and pick up chicks anymore… Chances are you cant play sports or go hiking or skating or skiing ext. On top of that most 60 yr olds have to start watching what they eat, taking special meds, ext… 60 years old starts survival mode imo… Thats when you drop everything fun and just live… Obv its just me, but id rather have fun while im healthy and able and then just do what others tell me to when im all old and shit myself cuz money or no money thats whats gonna happen.

I feel like that would never happen… I think the goverment would/does have some kind of program that would house and feed people that cant afford stuff.

Thats the only way I see it worth it… supporting your family.
