I’m sure it would be in some ways similar to a true accident on the road. The difference being that in that case the person was actively trying to save lives.
People are killed by friendly fire in combat, it’s often ruled an accident.

seems like a high cost accident and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere close to that legal shitstorm. That said, I appreciate the input. I see both sides of the argument.
I’m going to try to keep up with this thread. I don’t have a firm stance on either side so I would like to read more about what others think.
i was talking after the fact…but still your sarcasm is so invigorating
you may not have an “after the fact” if you don’t carry a gun.
i think swarz is on to something here…you can’t pick or choose which rights you take away and which that you don’t…it’s stupid…we have had the amendments in place for a very long time and its stupid that any one of them can just be “bypassed” as if it was nothing
Edit: i took a look at the rest of the thread to see what people put…never impose on others what you would not choose for yourself…stupid idiots want to take others lives…well those others should be able to defend themselves in the same way they are being attacked. torture/humiliation isn’t enough…

I don’t know that there has ever been a case like this. On the other hand, there have been plenty of cases where citizens have sucessfully used firearms to defend themselves (or their loved ones). Unfortunately, there have also been plenty of cases where citizens have fallen prey to armed criminals because they themselves had no means of self defense.
I’m for it honestly
understandable…its just my personal preference.
if i was killed by an act of violence i would prefer that person to be tortured the rest of his life then for someone to kill him or him get the death penalty.
Anyone who says there agains carrying should wake up. This is the new age. The government isnt doing shit to protect the kids in schools. They are trying to ban us from carrying guns. But what i dont understand is you have all these gangbangers and mental people who have guns. And we are suppose to sit there unarmed??? The same judge who is against carrying and arming citizens carrys himself. It was in a thread on a site about a judge, He put all these banns agains guns ect. Got a threat saying he was gonna be shot. NOW HE CARRYS AND HAS A BULLET PROOF VEST ??? Now doesnt seem right 2 me
criminals are gonne get guns no matter what the laws are…they just have to pay more for them if the laws are more strict, which means they will probably rob more and sell more drugs to get more money…
i’m for it…the only thing that worries me is that people are overmedicated in todays society… would more citizens legaly packin result in more people gettin smoked in incidents like road rage? would they be able to resist temptation while under the influence of medication?
i do think thou the people that wanna carry already do and the numbers will not increase very much so i think my owns worries won’t come to light… i think carrying on campus is a great idea… maybe people will stop doin other things for fear they might get dropped.
I think people with depression issues / bi-polar shouldn’t be able to have a carry permit for that same reason… people are crazy these days.
are you all fucking retarded?
fuck no; there is no reason to bring a weapon to a college campus. you all talk about protection, but what about the guy who loses his temper, and due to now being allowed to carry on campus, he happens to have his gun on him.
there are always going to be people who lose it.
If the guy looses his temper, there is going to be 50 other people pointing their guns at him… he won’t make more than 1 shot before his brains are on the chalk board… im all for it!
Carrying a gun is a sobering experience, I keep a much more level head when I have one on me. If the above happened…people would think twice before flying off the handle.
It seems to me that in the U.S. we’re overly concerned with the welfare and well-being of those who refuse to control themselves and take responsibility for their actions, yet we have no trouble trampling the rights of those who exercise self control and take responsibility for their actions. It seems totally bass-ackwards to me.
Ditto on the meds…this country is so over medicated right now.
fuck no; there is no reason to bring a weapon to a college campus.
I see how much you value my personal well being; on the other hand, I definitely would’ve liked to have had a weapon on me while commuting to Pitt from East Liberty. I do appreciate you making the decision regarding my personal safety and ability to protect myself, from your house in Shaler and all…
there are always going to be people who lose it.
…which is exactly why we need other people around in a position to stop the person who “loses it”.
Just do it, worry about the consequences later.
I carried a knife on me for the majority of night classes in college. I was going downtown for school and most weeknights I would get out of class around 9:30. I didn’t want to be the dumbass without protection when a hill junky attacks me.
I’m with you on this one…i’m originally from lincoln lemington…the really bad part of east liberty…i don’t even venture down that part at all and the main part of east liberty(penn ave) during certain times…the first thing i’m getting when i turn 21 is my carriers permit…don’t have time for the no good fuckers running around these days
exactly…stop being a bitch…carry…potentially save your life. I mean bringing a knife to a gun fight is stupid…but then again…gunpoint 9/10 is also cut-down range
that’s the strongest argument out right now
and it’s a total BS one at that. people who use guns out of anger are not the ones who legally carry them
yes I carry and yes I get mad. Does that mean that I’m going to shoot someone? absolutely not, you carry to protect your well being, you don’t carry for revenge
fucking blow me, with your argument that i’m some sheltered fucking suburban douche. i’ve delivered pizzas in manchester, north side, and northview heights. i’ve never needed a gun, even though i’ve carried over a thousand dollars on a semi-regular basis.
the one time i was mugged, it was set up so i never would have had time to grab a weapon if i had one.
i might have lived in shaler and north park, but i’ve also lived in a minivan and some really shitty apartments.
I can agree 100%, Im a hot headed person but when I do carry, it really does calm me down, I don’t lose it or pull it out or flash it, but I know its there if I really need it
I have carried into classes at my school, and its not because I wanted to, but mainly because once you build up a comfort level sometimes you forget you have it on you. So yes, Im all for carrying in schools
