Cars & Coffee @ Eastern Hills Mall (NOT run by Matt)

FWIW, I found out about this event in the Cars and Coffee thread over on DITB. I parked my low end VW off to the side, away from the high end whatever’s.

It’s his show. He can do what he wants.

@Mr_New_York I suggest simply roping / cone off an area and critiquing who gets to park where. Not discrimination but coordination. It would be nice to have all the Porsches lined up, etc. It would certainly make for better pictures.

lol, I’m never getting rid of them.

Or the Mustang & SAAB owners, of which there were quite a few.

Right, so now I’m questioning if I should even bother bringing the Miata.

Although in my opinion I think it’s worthy of parking at this event, I can understand how a Porsche or Aston Martin owner might not want me next to them.

But if this is going to turn into some elite car meet, I’ll stay home. I don’t want to show up and park only to have dirty looks from “high end” owners.

I was allowed to park my Altima with all the nice cars.

Shut up and buy an Aston Martin. I am going to go over to cars.com and see how non feasible that is for me.

Does it have a bumper sticker detailing your other cars?

Was going to go next month in the mustang, but not sure if a Classic will fit in with the group.

That’s the whole point of C&C meets though. It’s synonymous with “elite” cars. You get to see cars that normally the owners wouldn’t bring out and that you don’t typically see on the road.

Nissans are for poor people.

Streets closed Pizza boy!

Oh I’m definitely aware of that, and that’s why I even wanted to show up. I parked my car in an empty space, people showed up and parked next to me. When I went back to my car I had that gorgeous teal Mustang and a few older Porsches around my car. Now, if those owners had any issues I would have gladly moved my car, but being there was not a designated spot to park it’s hard to argue that I was in the wrong.

I’m not looking to start any drama or rustle any feathers, I would love to attend more of these but if it’s going to turn into a “my car is better than your car” type of thing then I’ll just stay home and drink my coffee by myself.

Sigh…ok, my 2 cents…

I drove my MR2 to one of the first C&C last year (my friend actually drove it, and we also brought the Evora and Esprit too)…I did not get any dirty looks, but I’ll prob. not bring it back. From what I had seen there, it did not exactly seem to fit in, and that is totally fine. Kind of like how EuroCar day is just that. Cars and Coffee meets, from what I’ve seen throughout the country are “typically” higher end cars…and that is what a lot (not all) of people that go expect…

However, having said all that, I can see both sides here. Anyone on this forum that know me, knows I’m probably the least pretentious person out there. I love my Japanese sports cars, and I love my European cars. But sometimes (not all the time) they each fit in best with certain groups. Am I going to be annoyed that non-exotics or Japanese cars are at C&C events? Not even a little. In fact, I encourage it. But I can kind of see why maybe a few people might be…because they simply had a different expectation…

And that’s why I made my suggestion to him.

I had to crop out a few minivans from the photos that I took because they were parked amongst the C&C cars. And I also prioritized taking pictures of cars who were members here (like yours) because I knew I’d be posting them here.

@XwalkerX can probably confirm this about Cali, but I believe most C&C events out there designate parking. I can only speak for the ones I’ve been to here on the East Coast and they’ve always had some kind of restrictions.

Can they designate parking in this plaza though? I guess that would hinge on the businesses there allowing sectioned off areas.

Anyone have any more photos?

That’s only cause your son Vladimir in his Russian track suit looked like he would dig deep hole if disagree.

Well…I guess the 2 tone V ruffled some feathers haha…Good thing that uni-tone one parked next to me!

I guess some clarification would be in order or have someone at the entrance saying park over here or park over there.

I mean, there were some average ordinary Audi A4’s and Saabs lurking, but there were also some great cars all over the place.

If it is supposed to be a Lotus, Porsche, Ferrari meet, then that should be made clear enough in the thread stating that the event is going on. Spectators can park elsewhere, like the bank with ease and still come and check out some interesting cars but leaving it open to interpretation is going to hurt some feelings.

Organization is key, but I think the expectations of what kind of cars qualify for the “Display parking” should be listed.

If it becomes car selective, it becomes less enjoyable… If you start saying its for the more high end cars, it becomes debatable. As a mustang owner I by no means think my car is high end… But I also don’t think a high mileage Porsche is either… Nor the camaros or corvettes or evo’s, or wrx’s, or any 1990’s car that was there for that matter… Any car that costs more than $80k to purchase today would be considered "high end / exotic … But thats my personal opinion and everyone’s will be different… I can honestly say if I can’t come and park my decently modified and decently well kept pony next to the guys m4 or c5 vette, high mileage Porsche or that 1990’s ricer… I won’t show up and won’t tell anyone else to… So the line gets grey in this aspect. Just my opinion…

I wouldn’t expect anything different from Orchard Park realistically though.

ill still show up on my motorcycle which will be parked many rows away and still check out all the hot moms entering the glorified OP Wegmans.

Let’s also be honest, this isn’t…nor will it ever be comparable to any C&C in California or Texas or any “big” city…

@2TurboZ love the 2 tone look now that i’ve seen some more photos. FOR REAL.
@Motocrossx23 I didn’t mean to poke fun at your Miata, which is REALLY clean and well done… it just needs some low… err… and… errr… an LS1.

I think if ‘event coordinators’ did a better job of ‘reserving’ certain spots for ‘appropriate cars’ then everyone has a good time and there are no issues.

Hell, @XwalkerX and I were at an Irvine, CA C+C many months back and it was like the fucking Mustang owners club of America near the back of the lot. It was a joke. It didn’t however cause any issues or cause anyone to have a bad time. My $300 Darien barn find Honda CB450 doo doo bike caught a few more looks than grandpa’s v6 'Stang. LOL
