for the record, the reason WHY we need to get to $8 per gallon is so that we are forced to develop mass transit and more efficient fuel types for our cars, not so that we can spoil the working man and bring the glorious communist revolution to America
this needs to be done so we can reduce demand, stop burning through supply, decrease our pollution, increase our efficiency, and correspondingly have a positive influence on the economy, and when it’s all done, enable our current domestic supply to sustain us indefinitely at a significantly lower level

Yeah. Now’s not the time or place. But when we get out, it wouldn’t be bad if the cost of gas went up so that John Q. Public doesn’t think “Golley! Gas is so cheap, why would we ever need to change!” when they hear people talking about spending money to set up a hydrogen/electric car infrastructure or high-speed mass transit lines.

I happeir with the CAFE standards being raised. That causes more change than high gas prices, people wont dump a car over night, but cars wear out overtime and more fuel effiecient choices are going to be on the horizon.
How can you justify picard’ing someone who added a factual and relevant chart?
