Check Engine Light?

It just went off after doing a compression test. I put the plugs back in, torque to 15 and than put the wires back on. I than re-attached the two harasses. Does anyone have an idea…oh ya I tried to un hook the battery and re connect it, no difference.

On a good note my compression showed
185-175psi dry and 197-185psi wet

Disconnecting the battery won’t do much - to reset the ecu - unplug it and rotate the small knob on the back of ecu to diagnostic mode then back. But first check the codes - it could have had enough time to detect maf disconnect (my guess is those are 2 harnesses you were talking about – IAT sensor and MAF).

Check your codes.

Jack

turn the ecu to diagnostics mode and check how many times the check engine light blinks.
Here’s a guide:

Good link.

Lith, come to the meet!

I’m coming to you bastard.

The check engine light came on a while back. I finally got around to reading the ECU trouble codes. The diagnostic trouble code is 55 - no failure (No self Diagnostic Failure indicated) – this means all is OK.
I then cleared the stored codes on the ECU but the light came back on and again got DTC 55.
Anyone experience this before or know what’s wrong? Do I have to take it in and get Nissan to read/scan it??

Oh yeah my car is a 1995…

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I hate seeing that light on…

thanks
Rick
