ok so im driving today and all of a suddon my car completly dies. oil light comes on and the battery light.i check the oil and there is barly any so i put oil in it. try again nothing. car cranks fine. i listen and the fuel pump wont turn on. i got my car towed to my house and when it was leaving the flat bed i seen it was leaking oil i havent got under my car yet but im going to know any one have this situation happen b4? i think i was a oil pressure sensor under the car and told the fuel pump not to run the car cause of no oil. then again do these cars even do this? oh yea car is a 1993 coupe with a s14 motor. any help would be great.
ok i changed the ecu and it started right away. after about a minute of it running it died again. so its blowing the ecu. im going to pull the harness to see if there is any cuts in it or defects. fucking fun fun happy happy joy joy. oh btw any one have a few extra ecu’s?
im gayyy just putting it out there!!
What indicated you to check the ecu?
Check out feedwires for power to the ecu, from ecu to fuse box etc. Probalby have a pinched wire. Any accidents, rust, new swap etc? Look where wires could of been pinched in these events.
WTF? lol…so, If your gay, then can you use your homosexuality to suck the gay out of his car so it will run again? lol
But in all seriousness, definitely a fault in the wiring. That’s no fun to do in the cold, as agitating 20 year old wires while their cold and brittle can often create new issues during the diagnosis,… just be very careful lol.
what indicated me to go to my ecu was when you go to start your car all the lights go on. then off when is started the engine light wouldnt go on till i was cranking over. and when it died it didnt sputter at all it just died… which means power cut.
follow the procedures in the fsm,…
i got anouther computer i tracked down some bad wires and put a new comp in it again. and it ran for like 5 mins then died and blew anouther comp. i have full front end apart and i am soon going to pull the entire harness. looking for faults. any one have this issue? where to look for breaks in wires or something else it could be.
get a wiring diagram and check continuity and grounding of wires that have +12 for the ecu
i have to get my volt meter. i need a ecu now. for dohc number 98 if you have it i would love to take it. or a 93 body harness.

i found this and this guy is having the exact same issue as me.
ok so bump i cannot figure this shit out. any one a wiring guru???
i tracked down the problem its blowing the ecu at pin 36 the first spot after the pins. what is this??why !!!
i found this and it confirms the pin but what does it do!!!

What color is the wire coming out of it? Once you know that, you can trace it through the FSM. Once you find the circuit in question, you must examine any/every component that modifies the voltage in ANY way. Just get ready, because if you cant find it through the FSM, you will have to do it the old fashioned way
i got my car running. i know where the problem is. but i dont know what is causing it. i jumped my computer using some old skool red neck style teching. ill post pics. still stumped but at least i can use my blown ecu’s to run my car now!
i will pay some one to come fix my car. i need a fucking car this is so stupid. i will have to pull out my summer car.
If I were you, J’d run by Ted’s (heatw) and chip him some bucks. He’s the best guy on SON when it comes to handling electrical nightmares.
i found this after countless hours of searching. what is high lighted in green is the b/r wire that runs off pin 36. which now that i am armed with a high tech volt meter, circut tester and the whole 9 yards. im going at this. i also want to say that i did get rid of everything to do with my ac and that i think runs alot of stuff.
Good man!! Do it proper!!
