Checko's EG sedan (finially gettin some love)

Coming along nicely. Where are you getting your powder coating done?

any updates i love these build threads!

whooaaa. its been a while since an update to this. got the fuel lines, brake lines and tank out. trunk piece is welded in. it looks pretty good. also welded up the holes in the strut tower from those stupid adjustable upper control arms.

yesterday we moved the car to my dads buddys shop to get ready for paint. today i got the doors off and the back glass is out. the front windsheild moldings are removed. i will be getting new oem moldings. the aftermarket ones from safelite were garbage and didnt line up anyway. dad and i did some sanding today. the roof, and the sides are pretty much done. i scuffed all the door jams. tomorrow my plan is to wire wheel the inside to get any left over glue/pieces of sound deadening, and preping the engine bay. friday the engine bay and interior will be sprayed. as for the exterior there is only minor body work. couple little dings in the doors.

and heres a pic of dad sanding the roof in his silly hat haha

floor wire wheeled

doors and trunk lid in process of being blocked. just about done

front bumper and fenders sanded. bumper needs license plate holes filled. the fenders have little dings that need to be worked on.

the hood is also blocked. just about done with that as well.

as for this morning dad and i sprayed the inside with truck bed liner. it covers real nice and is pretty durable. also got the engine bay sprayed gloss black. i gave it a whirl and my dad finished it up. the pics arent so good. there wasnt much light.

did some more blocking today. doors, hood and trunk lid should be sprayed tomorrow. got the sidemarker holes cut into the fenders today.

Very nice progress.

thanks!

yesterday did all the finish sanding. and started to blast some parts.

TODAY! what a long day. did some touch ups on the interior. got the insides of the doors, hood, trunk and fenders sprayed. masked the car off, and bumpers etc. flipped the doors all over and went to town. the whole car is painted!

the color… its a concoction of paint my dad had layin around. it consisted of the folowing. candy apple red/dark cordovan metalic/med canyon metalic/and a splash of black to darken things up a bit hahaha.

heres some cell pics for now. im waiting on my dad to upload the pics he took off his camera.

dude. this turned out so awesome for a budget paint job

he’s serious, he showed me like 4 half full cans of paint in his basement that looked like 20 years old, i was shocked he was going to use them, but it turned out fucking great!

it was literally 20 yrs old. My dad used it to paint a buddys truck in the 80’s haha

fuckk yea! this look sweet!

I’m thoroughly impressed, this is really coming together. Nice job!

… you’re not keeping the green wheels on there though, right?

No way! Lol. I got some 14" oem honda (enkei) wheels powercoated pearl grey. Pics of those are in previous pages. Thanks all!
