So i have a friends 2000 Chevy metro. the motor is believed to be siezed but i want to definitely verify this before i change the motor. ive had the starter out and verified. the battery is ok. i put a socket and ratchet on the crank pulley but i could not get it to move. that leads me to believe its siezed, but again, i want to make sure.
its an auto btw so pop starting it isnt an option.
Pull the plugs, and accessory belts off. Try to turn it by the crank nut making sure to only turn it in the engines operating direction. Make sure to take the plugs out though. What cause the motor to fail, do you know?
i tried to edit it but it would not let me edit the title…
yea apparently the car was borrowed to a friend and this friend never knew to check and/or change the oil.
i might take the belt and plugs off tomorrow morning, regardless ill post back when i give it a shot. there isnt enough room to get a breaker bar in between the crank bolt and frame, the frame is about a half inch below the bolt. but i can get a ratchet on there and put a long extension on the end of the ratchet handle. the only thing that sucks if i break something is finding a snap on dealer since i dont work at a shop anymore…
