Well i just recently got coilovers and upgraded to 30mm iron calipers up front and well ever since i finished the swap i 've been hearing a clanking noise, kind of like something just shifts when i hit the brakes. It only happens if the car was just reversed and then put in drive, for example getting out of my driveway and then going down to the street and pressing the brakes. I ve taken apart that side countless times to pinpoint the noise, and i’ve come the conclusion that it can’t be the coilover, or the rims and tires, only thing i c that could be causing the problem is either the ball joint connection in the tension rod or maybe a bushing somewhere, i ve taken the rim off and shaked the suspension in that corner several times and have never been able to get a sound to come, any ideas.
alrite so i still got this noise going on, its gotten considerably louder, i took off my calipers fully checked them, they cannot be the problem, and i checked my coils, they do not bind or anything, leading me to the conlclusion that it is most likely just the tension rod, You agree?
I used to have the same type of noise from my front end, tried everything to fix it and coudent find the problem…after a long time looking and trying everything i took it to a Nissan shop Simone performance…they found that my front sub frame had come lose! lol if you drift the car …and drive it hard ide check your subframe in the front …it sounds odd but it could be your problem!
Do you feel anything in the floor of the car when it makes the noise ?
