Clutch concern/question (Eg civic)

knew it was the master. boo ya!

fuck my life…

exact same thing just happened again out of nowhere. i spent the night downtown last night after some drinking…get in my car this morning to drive home and i notice the clutch pedal engaging a bit sooner and it being a bit more effort to get into 1st while stopped…get home, park it…

bum around all day…and try to go out real quick to find that now it’s always engaged…exact same thing as before, only this time instead of progressively getting worse over the course of a couple days it all took place in one day.

is it possible/likely that the new master i got was shitty from the factory? it seems weird that it would be a factory new faulty part though…because if it was i wouldn’t or shouldn’t have been able to drive it fine for the past month and a half…if it was a bad part from the factory it would have been shot immediately one would think.

back to the drawing board again…i’ll check fluid tomorrow to see if it’s low, check to see if any is coming out by the clutch pedal…see if the fluid in the master gets filthy right away (which i was told is a sign that the seals are shot and the fluid is getting exposed to dirt right away), etc…

Also check the slave cylinder,there should be a rubber boot on the end of it.Just peel it back and see if fluid runs out.There shouldnt be any fluid there.If there is the slave is bad.Its possiable that the master went bad,but they are usually ok if it worked for awhile.

same thing happened to me, carnut replaced my master, slave, and the rubber clutch line all in 2 weeks time

where did you get the part from? its most likely the slave

what was the point of all this

Holy shit already, this is seriously easy. bring it to swerve any time tomorrow and I’ll fucking fix it already.
