Condensation in headlights

With the heavy rain lately in Winnipeg I realized when I got home there was condensation on my passenger headlight on my dual projector headlight.

How do you go about sealing headlights? Is it difficult or has anyone done this and have tips they want to share?

A reply I got on another forum was

“put your lights in a preheated oven set at 300 degrees C and leave it in there for 3-4 mins to get rid of the condensation. afterwards, reseal it with any silicone based sealant. black rtv sealant works well.”

and

“in the past, ive just drilled a hole in the bottom of the light housing to allow the water to drain out easily, also the condensation wont show up as much cause the inside is the same temp as surroundings”

then i thought

300C = 572F

Most plastics will melt at those temperatures. probably meant 300F. Only some plastics will melt at those temperatures.

Just thinking of putting in headlights into an oven…kinda freaks me out…

Ya man as you would have seen in my post I am having the same problem. I am thinking of using a heat hun or somthing else instead of a oven to open the head light clean it out and reseal it.
