I’m annoyed that they are commercials on radio and TV for Pfizer/Biontech.
That is a wake up call, have you EVER heard of these companies advertising THEMSELVES, not a product? It’s marketing folks. MARKETING. We are being sold a product (tax dollar paid) and the media is allowing the CEOs of these companies to go on camera and literally SELL why people should use their product. That…is a called a FUCKING COMMERCIAL.

if this dude is actually fine after 10 needles i will consider changing my perspective. that’s some extreme counter-evidence i have to admit.
I went to Canada this weekend and was selected for an additional “random” COVID test. I thought no problem, I’ll pull into secondary, take the test, then be on my way.
Nope.
In secondary they gave me an at home test and paperwork saying if I don’t complete it immediately I could go to jail. When I got to my destination and started reading all the rules that’s when the absurdity showed itself.
I think most people have taken a COVID test at this point but here’s what Canada’s doing. You can’t just do the test.
You have to create an account on a separate site (not just arrivecan) and put all your info in. Obviously the site isn’t functional enough to already have your arrivecan info.
Then you have to collect all the items required including tissues & hand sanitizer. And lay out all items in the box but don’t open anything.
Then you have to wait in line for someone to watch you do the test. This could take 45 minutes. The site actually told me it was peak time and that I should probably come back in a few hours… Which I didn’t do.
Once it was my turn I had to hold up to the camera my pen, hand sanitizer, tissue box, etc. so they knew I had it.
Then I was told to blow my nose. Then hand sanitize. Then instructed how to write the lable. Then show them the label. Then show them my ID. Then hand sanitize again. Then open the vial on camera so they could see. Then stick the swab in my nose until I was told to remove it. Both sides. Then break off the swab in the vial. Then seal the vial. Then show them on camera that the swab was in the sealed vial and numbers matched. Then put it back in the box. Then seal the box with their company seal. Then put the box inside the plastic shipping bag. Then show them the bag was sealed and label hadn’t changed. Then open an alcohol swab and wipe down all sides of the bag BUT not the paper label. "Get rid of all those nasty germs!" is verbatim what they said to me… I guess germs don’t stick to paper labels.
The best part of all this they save for last. You can either drop off the test or have a currier come to get it. The nearest drop off location was 45 minutes away from me. And because THE TESTING & CURRIER’S DON’T WORK ON WEEKENDS the earliest they could pickup my test is today after 1pm.
So my test won’t even be started until tomorrow morning. I got back to the US yesterday.
All that urgency, yet they don’t work on weekends. 
That’ is SPECTACULAR. It’s like the bureaucracy episode of Futurama. Hermes would be proud.
I recall hearing about this a while back, maybe 9mo? A guy i know from the London area was living and working in CA for a while and had to go back b/c of his visa. He mentioned the same procedure, fucking amaze.
