Did our yearly Wine about Winter in Medina, NY. Go around store to store and they pour you samples of wine while checking out all of the stores. I believe this year had about 22 stores you go to. Anyways, they had on the ticket and the window of the main building that you must wear a mask. Other than a very small amount, literally no one had a mask on. The people working at the stores didn’t have them on.
Also found that Medina has a “Hemp” store and as long as you make “Donations” for the amount you want, they will give you weed as well. The store was giving out business cards with gummies in them. Either a THC or CBD one. Pretty funny.
Went to the Autoshow saturday, vaccination required. But really…they just want to see a blue thing on your phone.
Someone I was with didn’t have their vaccine app installed and was annoyed they were checking so they just found a random image of the app on Google, “thank you!” and walked in.

I was begrudgingly in Manhattan this weekend and we ate at an all but empty burger place (one other dude in there) and they vax carded us to eat inside.
First and last NYC trip complete.
I serve as a president for a local board here in WNY. We have a corresponding state level board as well and they’re hosting a summit in Syracuse in May. I was invited and when I inquired about some details on the event, I learned they had all voted to make it a vaccine only event.
I had expressed some displeasure over that vote and told them I’m hard pressed to attend that event, even though I could and that they were going to miss out on some extremely talented and valuable attendees due to this requirement.
Late Friday I received word that they’ll be dropping the mandate and that my notions were brought to the attention of the board. While I’d like to think that is the real reason, I think it’s because the mask mandates are about expire and restrictions will start being slowly removed. Not too quick though because the democrats still need to pretend that their measures have made a world of difference!
