We got in last last night so i cannot give a comprehensive take just yet but many of the roads around parliament have dozens of trucks staged but with a lane open. As i sit in my hotel 1 block away i can hear the horns going. There is virtually zero non-truck traffic. the streets are largely empty of other vehicles. the city has some streets blocked with large equipment too to keep the trucks out of certian pathways.
However, in front of the main parliament buildings is 100% blocked off with several dozen trucks. that is where the main area is. nothing gets in or out. hundreds of signs on the fence / gates to parliament. Lots of very reasonable people including a lot of indigenous people.
We stood over a number of fires and chatted with people for hours. People have come from all over the country to be here.
The truckers are all amazing people. They are staged in their trucks and hunkered down for the long haul. We motioned to one to let his horn go. He took the time to get out of his truck, come down to our car and said it was too late and he didnt want to upset everyone near him but he would tomorrow.
they are overloaded with food and water. spirits are high.
This could go on a while and i hope that it does.
I would encourage any of you to make the trip up here for a say or so. during the week there is tons of hotel capacity. i dont know what happens on the weekend but i want to come back.
I have now started seeing IG stories saying that last Trudeau speech was a body double.
So, how many racists and deplorable people have you found?
Somebody should be out there handing out business cards for all the local politicians.
Give them to the locals who are complaining about the unapproved lockdown.
I just love that the press keeps saying Trudeau is at “an undisclosed location” and 4chan was like, “hey, check out those unique looking shutters that are EXACTLY THE SAME as the shutters on Trudeau’s summer place that’s under renovations!”
Yet despite this being out there in public domain the press continues to act like he’s at some super secret place. #clownshow

Optimistic. Relaxing mandates and removing the immediate need for emergency powers at the drop of a hat.
Pessimistic: Truckers must clear out from the immediate area around the capital buildings, get their licenses revoked due to unpaid parking tickets and trucks are turned over to the military to help supply chains recover and trucking becomes nationalized…
We are being effected by this situation. We have had actual truckers who are hauling across the border here who have been stuck for apparently a day or days. They are not moving. lol I’m sure the expenses for waiting time will hit us as well.
Sad part is that we’ve had a supply chain problems since covid started and even a little before that. While we already have these issues our governments who have wealthy people who can afford the price increases are the ones that are making mandates/policies that are causing an even bigger shortage of trucks/struggle to move freight and raising freight costs. It’s ridiculous and playing with peoples lives in my opinion. Those who work paycheck to paycheck and those who have been doing their job just fine for us before the mandates who we took pride in and supported for doing their job.

You know what I find hilarious? When Kathy gets on the news and is talking about how she’s proud of NYS for getting numbers down, how we’re fighting COVID and doing a great job, cases have dropped so much lately, blah blah blah.

Literally, I did nothing. I haven’t changed anything. But it’s all because of us, not because…you know…this virus is weakened and becoming naturally endemic. But okay Kathy, keep clapping for us.
It’s amazing how all of these politicians think. We didn’t do anything, literally everyone who was going to get sick got sick and now we are on the downward trend because the amount still able to get sick is a lot less.
Like Biden creating jobs… it’s a joke. We literally lost jobs under Trump from Democratic states shutting down businesses with mandates then lifting said mandates when Biden came in to office allowing people back to the jobs they were forced out of. That is not creating jobs but Democrats right now are spitting this out like he did. It’s ridiculous. We need new people in office and not family members of those who have been in office their whole life.
