COVID-19 Pandemic Thread [NY Now Closes All Biz]

My concern isn’t dying, as you noted the rates are dropping precipitously. My fear is the reports of long term heart and lung damage. It’s certainly not common, but it’s not infrequent enough to just ignore it…

Husband and wife both got it, he recovered fine like most, she ended up in the hospital. Started to recover but then had severe lung issues and had to be put on a ventilator. She was on it for I think 2 or 3 weeks and when they took her off she did not respond well. At the time I last posted the latest I had heard was not good and they were suspecting permanent brain damage. When I got home last night my wife had another update and apparently she’s recovering well. The exact words were “Doctors are calling it a miracle because they can’t explain how well she’s recovering after being such bad shape”.

As for not using ventilators I know they try to avoid them but that’s nothing new. Even before Covid going on a ventilator was not good news and if you’re on it for any extended period of time your chances are good. Even if you do recover it’s a long recovery while you’re body basically re-learns to breath on it’s own. Sometimes people get to a point where it’s go on a ventilator or die though.

How long ago was it when they first developed symptoms? Was it earlier in the pandemic?

No, this was just a couple months ago. I don’t remember exactly but a quick search of my iMsg convos looks like early Sept.

Yikes. That’s really frightening. Best of luck to them all.

As a fat guy who’s hobby is riding a bike 50-100 miles at a time, I really hope to avoid this…

It really sucks for those that have severe complications.

Had a little scare at my plant in Alabama.
16 hour days and inclimate weather while working outside can easily run you down.

One of the team was having symptoms after getting back.

All tested negative. Back to work.

I am not a nice project manager, but would like to note that the 40% of the contact tracer symptom list can be attributed to being 30+

I’ve been off my 2nd quarentine for out of state travel for 8 days and I’m heading south again Monday. Yay NY and our lord and savior. Big C.

Better.
Sore from sleeping on a memory foam mattress?
Don’t leave your house.

Sleep with a window open during allergy season…
Dont leave your house.

But in reality, you text back NY with a “2” every day stating no symptoms.

At least as an essential worker I was told that I can go to work, avoid crowds and people as best I can just quarentine at home.

Private room, bathhroom, someone to leave food outside the door and take away dishes. Lots of cleaning supplies etc…

Also note. For someone doing your laundry, make sure they do not shake it. That was literally an instruction.

Sounds like out of state quarantines have changed. Not sure if it’s just for flying or what. Test negative before leaving the state and test negative when you return. Something like just quarantining till results come back. Hopefully that helps you out.

I used the 24 hr deal a few times with day trips to customer sites.
I’m too fast for COVID.

The new plan gives me an method to test out of quarantine, which is good, but have to get tested even if I am out of state for less than 24 hrs. d

I have zero intentions of ever getting a test unless I have been near someone that test’s positive or I have symptoms.

I’m not in a hurry to go work in a closet for 10 hours a day when I can do the same work at home with windows, food, kids, and Blaze TV/OAN on Pluto.

Note. People in the south do not really give a shit about masks. Somehow, I have not yet died.
(If I catch COVID some day, please try and text me this post with a Nelson .gif before I die)

I’ve been told by a few people, who’ve been told through their HAIR STYLISTS that Erie County is planning another lock down.

Then I get a call from my hair girl a few days ago saying she wants to move up my appointment to this week because of the same rumor.

Anyone else have exposure to the salon / hair stylist lockdown rumor?

Coworkers wife is a hair stylest/salon worker. I just asked him if he heard about this and confirmed that she heard the same thing through the grapevine. Well… Guess it’s time to get my hair cut immediately since I’ve been needing it.

Got something home from the schools about providing iPads, and that it needed to be signed and returned the next day. The urgency seemed weird

I know one of the schools in Ken-ton was going remote again for at least 2 weeks from the sounds because of people within the district testing positive.

Yeah East went remote. We are just starting to bring kids back this week so it sucks if we go full remote after all this planning we just did.

we had a hair loss thread on here years ago.

mine was thinning out years ago but finesteride fixed it. been having a pretty good hair-decade to be honest…

Knock on wood I take biotin, collagen, keratin and saw-palmetto every day (32 y.o.) and my hair has thickened up a ton, longest it’s ever been. If I start to lose it I’m going to use Keeps or HIMS.

And I do leave the house for haircuts lol

Get your toilet paper, folks! IT’S HAPPENING!!!
