gas money? cmon mpg on our cars is impeccable…miles i understand, but i like to drive my car so idc. Resale value? You think after strapping a blower on, that crazy clutch of yours, longtubes/xpipe/exhaust, trans/diff brace etc… your resale value isnt going to be affected? In the “corvette” resale market? You’ve already affected your resale by far. Maybe not to a certain buyer; but in general your resale is fucked. As a low mileage and un-molested Z, that is.
And i dont want to start the cruise at 24, but if thats where its beginning and i have the day free, I’m going because its a nice drive, I’ve made it plenty of times.
Agree ^. Resale value on our cars is a joke. IF your car was stock and IF you didn’t have any mods, MAYBE you could sell it for $20K. In 5 years, it will be even less.
And who really cares about miles? I don’t. I take car of my car to know that miles are just something to be used in negotiating a sale. When my car gets to 100K miles, it will still look like it has 30K. By that time C6 Z06’s will be affordable for me and I will sell it anyway.
In the meantime I am going to drive it and have fun.

i would much rather drive somewhere i have never been. the trip through the adirondacks i missed and sounds nice. driving all the fucking way up to exit 24 to START the cruise doesnt sound apealing to me at all. espically if im not staying up there for the weekend. shit, i wouldnt do it in an econo box let alone my corvette. makes no fucking sense!
Resale on our cars isnt a joke, our economy is a joke. E could get probably $25k for his car, if it was bone stock, and if the car market wasnt down the tubes. Never going to happen now, theres a buyer for everything, however. He may get lucky and get a good $ for it from someone looking for exactly what E built. But thats unlikely, and that isnt “resale” IMO. Thats reaching a specific buyer, “resale” is being able to list your car forsale in its market at a reasonable cost to the current owner and potential buyers.
But i agree with you, i beat on my car, but i also take care of it. And when im ready to get rid of it (which is when i can afford a c6 z06) it will look as it did or better than it did when i got it. And i will probably get close to what i paid, only because i got mine for so cheap. So for now, im gonna drive the balls off of my c5 Z.
Dude im not being argumentative, but you know what i meant. I also stated that your car certainly would hold its value to a small group of people. But on the large scale, in the corvette resale market, yours is not worth what its potentially worth, stock. (if that runon sentence just made sense :lol)

Anyway, my single vote is for meeting up at exit 24 at 4PM and heading north from there. It’s the best compromise between on/off highway driving, and as a starting point for the guys that live north of the Capital region. If we take this route, you guys should REALLY look at a map and find a different way home to mix it up!
If you guys all vote to do something else or drive a different way, so be it, I won’t get butthurt. At least I did my part to get you guys to actually drive your cars:)
There is a totally off highway route that we could take back to the Northway (we would get back on at exit 28), very scenic, only 2 traffic lights (and one is a blinker lol), and it’d only add ~15 minutes to the trip. I’m all ears, and I’d be totally into that idea, too.
