I put a motor in homie’s Acura RSX. Dude was easy to get ahold of, patient, and generally a pleasant customer. There was confusion when he came to pick up the car and he was $200 short on cash. I was super reluctant to let the car go, especially after seeing the batman scrunchie on the brake res, but he seemed like an ok dude. I let the car go and Mike said he’d get me my dollas by this thursday.
Well I got a text tuesday from Mike asking me where I was going to be thursday evening so that he could pay me. I was totally shocked ( I had actually forgotten all about the owed $$ lol) and was like meh, i’ll believe when i have cash in hand.
So last night homie runs down to guilderland, first to the wifes house (we were out to get ice-cream) then down to the ice cream joint and pays me in full. I was honestly shocked. Just thought I would post up on here about this experience, because way to often these types of situations end up in a Failvis scenario. Normally I never would’ve let the car go, I’m very glad I did, and also very glad to have met / helped such an upstanding dude.
Mike you ever need anything else don’t hesitate to ask. For anyone looking to do business with 'ol Mikey, don’t hesitate.
Lold at thread title, just thought it was funny, thought it was going to be something bad at first. Nice to hear there are still plenty of good peeps out there.
First of all, the whole experience with losing my car (my baby) was unthinkable. I had no way of doing ANYTHING. It was literally my freedom being taken away. I figured, “Hey, why not turn to a bunch of local gearheads and car nuts?” The shop I had it at quoted me FOUR THOUSAND FUCKING DOLLARS. So, off and away I go posting, hearing from Frank, Wayne, KK (you sarcastic jerk<3), and surely a few others. Frank offers his towing service (my car was dead about 20 blocks from my house), for a superbly reasonable price. Wayne offered to build the new motor and put it in. Frank hooked me up twice, even on a Sunday morning when my drunk ass was still sleeping (my bad dude!). The whole time it was at Wayne’s shop, Wayne was in constant communication letting me know EXACTLY what was going on. Admittedly I was super nervous about bringing it to someone’s house. I talked to Elliot and I think the exact words were, “stop being a bitch, Wayne does good work.” Find another place that does that, you’ll see 100s of places slip through your hand. I was little bit slow with the pricing (Truth be told I was playing WoW when we talked), and drained my account (and borrowed $200 from mom) to pay for everything. Talking to Wayne on the way over it just so happened I was $200 short. Fuck my life. Wayne said pick it up anyways and give him the rest when I have it. I was like, holy shit, really??? Got to the shop, started her up and omfg my car ran again. I was like a kid on Christmas. The drive home was admittedly far too much fun, and it’s been love ever since (except now my judo coach knows I have zero excuse to miss practice).
TL;DR Version - I <3 Frank, Wayne, Elliot and pretty much the entirety of Shift for the help when I needed it.
one time Wayne worked on my car. it was a nice time. we went to lunch and talked about boobies. then i paid him and he pulled the gun away from my head. i recomend wayne to anyone. :thumbup
