i didn’t know about this change either.
here’s my favorite part.
The change is meant to save energy by providing more daylight during the evening, although the savings may be offset by increased energy use in the morning.

They’re only estimating a 1% energy savings. But who cares. I don’t even care if it costs more energy to be honest because it gives me more daylight after work when I want it.
I noticed this when my computer’s clock changed automatically the other night- the clock that was off by an hour, and had been all summer. Now the time is correct again. So it’s already making my life better;)
