I figured id start a build thread as i haven’t yet and ive been on this site for a few months now.
I picked the car up in late 2009, I think november to be exact. I previously owned a jeep commander that i got stuck with and didnt really care for. I was desperate to get out of it and just was hunting to find anything the dealer had that i could trade the jeep in for. I was working really hard at getting an SRT jeep but, after doing some numbers 620$ a month with a 10,000$ baloon payment didnt exactly work out to well for me. So my shot at that was done. About a month later i was back up at the dealer visiting a friend of mine who worked there and saw there was a 2006 C230 benz in the drive way for sale. I drove it and it was MEH at best.
Pretty slow, No aftermarkets from what i could find really and just wasnt cool. I got a call a day later and was told that they had taken a charger in on trade, Didnt get much info about it other than that it was a nice car and was told to come see it. I took it for a drive and fell in love with the strong power for being stock, The nice big leather seats, roomy enough to fit 4 full size adults etc. Loved it and i took it the next day after getting rid of the jeep. I ended up getting banged over pretty hard on the jeep but, I got the charger for the trade in value they gave the previous ower which was $16,500 and i was happy with that for a 2 year old car which stickerd at over $40,000 and had 11,000 miles on it when i took it home. Here it is as it sat the day i picked it up.
Picked it up 100% bone stock and quickly started to buy mods for it from then on. I got into the modern mopar scene on another forum based for the whole new Modern Mopar platform and quickly picked up on Drag racing and fell in love with it. Best it ever did Bone stock on street tires was a 13.9 @ 102 MPH.
As the car sits right now here is the list of whats done.
Frank racing stage 2 Ported OEM street/strip heads.
Frank racing “scudd” camshaft 219/222-113 LSA.
SRT 6.1 springs and retainers.
SRT forged 6.1 pushrods.
Frank racing Stage 2 ported and polished 6.1 intake manifold.
SRT4 stage 1 Injectors.
Crank This performance manifold spacers.
Billet technology Catch can.
SLP 25% under drive pulley.
Kooks 1 3/4 Long tube exhaust with High flow catted mids.
Pioneer AVIC D-3 In dash Nav and DVD player.
Tune for 93 OCT and E85.
Getrag challenger OEM 3:73 rear end with Challenger OEM axles.
Stock rear suspension.
Lakewood 90/10 front suspension with OEM V6 charger springs.
Stage 2 Paramount Performance Valve body.
Mopar performance TCM.
JBA catback exhaust system.
Legmaker Fender pull CAI.
100% stock bottom end
Thats about all i can list off for the current mods to what i have gotten to now. The best the car has ran is 11.81@116.53 with a 1.63 60’. I now there is more in it as i was spinning off the line and spun on the 1-2 shift but, due to end of season and bald DR’s i was stuck with that. Currently the 2nd fastest NA 5.7 hemi that we in the LX world now of. The fastest is running at 11.73@117. I think i could of got him but, we’ll never know. The car has some Major plans for next year which when 100% final ill post some up. Car is also a daily driver for the most part at this point but, that will be changing soon. Thats about all i can think of. Heres some more pics.
