dif between snow tires and winter tires?

Is there a diff? Just wondering?

mud and snow (m+s) tires have bigger blocks in the tread allowing them to grip deeper into mushy surfaces.

Ice tires have a lot more “slits” (and surface area) in the tread to grip better on ice.

Winter tires are a combination of both.

All-season tires just plain old suck.

I never needed winter tires, I find all season radials work just as good as long as you know how to drive in the snow. I think winter tires are the biggest waste of money, we don’t get that much snow in Toronto and the roads are prety clear especially now with that new spray crap they spray the roads with, it mealts the snow right away and prevents it from building up again.
But as for winter tires I don’t think they are a godd investment for people who live in Toronto…but then again I could be wrong I don’t drive my 240sx in the winter.

… :!: wait a sec I just noticed what I said doesn’t answer your question.
They are spelled different

snow tires are usually made of a softer rubber as well

winter tires arent just better for snow surfaces. they have a much softer compound which works better with the colder temperatures and i find they work better than all seasons on wet roads aswell as snow covered.
