Oh that sucks, not the first car to blow up at an nyspeed event though. I would probably tell them after they get back seeing that it’s going to be the only thing they think about from now til whenever the vacation is done (probably ruining their vacation).
When I was in HS my friend had to call his parents, who were on vaca in the Adirondaks, to tell them he had snaked his dad’s beloved Maxima and slammed it into a tree at 60. They were not pleased. Tell him the truth when he gets home, it’s just a car.
