that would be easy to do All they have to do is add all the LOCAL feeds in HD. so you get CBS, ABC, NBC from every major city to watch the same shows in HD. to make that claim.
When they say “80 National” that means they are not counting locals.
Go to MENU -> 6 -> 1 -> 1 -> and go to Check switch and see which satellites show up. You need to have 61.5 as a viewable satellite. If it says 129 then you have to call Dish and get a technician to come out.
I just want to see a side by side lineup of D* and E* for national HD. To put it into perspective so to speak for me.
Just want to see how the two compare.

DirecTV only offers 2, 7 and 29 for locals in HD.
Dish has 2, 4, 23, 29 and I think one more (not 7 yet) as of last night.
Dish also has HBO HD, Cinemax HD, Showtime HD, Starz HD but doesn’t list them in the HD pack list since they are premium channels.
Plus there are regional sports networks with each carrier but I didn’t feel like looking them up because I don’t care about them.
DirecTV has two channels in HD that Dish doesn’t right now that I want. FX, and the MSG Buffalo feed for the Sabres games.
