Do you carry?

kel tec 9mm…everywhere

the one time I left it at home I got mugged at the get go in larwenceville,
-$36 later it was still worth not going to court to explane what I would have done. I’m glad I didnt have it

depends… but ill tell you this .im know by my neighbors as the neighborhood sniper. i dont have a permit but i keep it on the passenger seat.

i was an NRA certified pistol instructor at one point. i don’t see the need to carry around these parts. depending on your profession, where you live, or area’s where you work, you may need one. i do have a gun for home protection. i feel sorry for the shmuck that comes into my place. i can’t hit a damn thing with a rifle, and i’m just an alright shot with a pistol, but damn am i good with a shotgun

most people get sued for not knowing the laws. if you are going to carry, be smart enough to learn EVERYTHING there is about it. i agree with people carrying when they have a good head on their shoulders and know the laws. it’s the few morons that know nothing and just think its cool to carry that give it a bad rap.

if you’re going to pull a gun on someone, you better be prepared to kill them. crazy or not, shoot to kill, not to wound.

while we’re on the topic, anyone else go clay target shooting?

That’s good if someone gets shot in your neighborhood.

I do not base my life around it. That (as I stated) is ONE of MANY reasons I chose not to carry. It is my right not to carry… just as it is yours to carry.

Jon is right… if someone is going to come up behind you and hold a gun to the back of your head- they are taking the chance that you also have a gun. However a fellow “Pittspeeder” was recently robbed at gunpoint and stated that the only thing he could logically think about was his family- then it was over.

Tom is right… if you shoot someone you will have consequences.

If I’m not somewhere it’s prohibited to carry, I’m carrying.

Typically I’ve got my Guardian .22 revolver, 9x19mm Makarov, and KelTec P40 sporting LEO. Or some combination. Those are the easiest ones in my collection to keep concealed.

Walther P99 .40 Cal

Good luck on the permit Jenn since you are in the court system a few times last year. :truth:

:wtf:
Why would she need a permit since she said she will never carry???
I must have missed something
:dunno:

wrong JeNn micheal!:blue:

Jon, yeah you missed it wrong person.

Brian, Post #24 and you’ll know who I was responding to

you dont have to live in compton to have your life endangered.

shit could happen at any second anywhere. i have had a gun pulled on me just being in the car leaving a club because the dude wanted out of the spot and we couldnt move in the car. i looked over and dude was pointing a gun out the window. this was also in the suburbs. new brighton to be exact in beaver county.

also when i was younger i saw a dudes car get shot up in broad daylight in the southside when i was with my mom heading to my aunts house.

now obviously these are not examples where i needed to pull out my weapon BUT they are situations that could potentially have been necessary. 711’s get robbed all the time, peoples houses get broken into, there are psychos that just wanna kill for fun. i feel better knowing if my life in in danger i can defend myself better than the non gun carrying person. im not gonna try to kill a dude over my wallet but if some maniac is in burger king trying to kill people i wont hesitate to defend my life along with the others in there if i can. i dont act tough i probally wont ever have to pull my gun on anyone but lets face it, the world we live in is fucked you never know.

better get yourself a gun:blue:

sorry sir!!

:blah: I knew you wouldn’t be able to keep your mouth shut… STFU and mind your own business. If I want your $0.02 on whether or not YOU think I can get a carry permit, I’ll ask you!!! (Oh, and newsflash, I don’t have any current or pending charges, so it shouldn’t affect it, although there is no way to know until I try to go get one)

Sorry I was confused, continue on ladies.

Its all good

PS - Pending or not, you plead guilty to one and paid the fine and the other is on file. :hsugh:

First let me say,

Damn I’m sorry. I really didn’t start this post to debate who should or shouldn’t carry or why. I was reading in another post and seemed like there was a good number of members that talked like they carry. I was just wondering how many.

With that said let me relay a personal story,

This happened about 2 years ago. I was a local bar, there was a huge fight. A very good friend of my was at arrow point after fighting with some dude. Yes, I said arrow point. The dude had his hunting bow in the car, and was holding my buddy at arrow point, the reason, who knows, I still don’t.

So another friend, that know I carry, came got my me to “handle” this situation. I go over, with no intent of producing my weapon, or of fighting. Because at this point I, nor my family, in my opinion, was in danger. I go over my buddy wants my gun to shot this guy. He gets the big fuck off. And I walk over to the guy. We proceed to talk for about 5 minutes, he puts the bow away and leaves. End of problem.

Someone else brought up that if you are going to carry, you need a good head on your shoulders. I couldn’t agree more. In my case there were other ways to handle it, but my way worked out the best for all involved.

:1320:

yea but it was such a good night before that…

It was, but someone always ruins them.

Normally it’s your wife…

That’s funny sheet.

I used to carry when I repoed. Firestar .45 compact

Tough to carry anymore during work, as I am in federal agencies & courthouses alot. Too much hassle.

I keep my permit renewed just in case.
