Any suggestions…
yeah i hate vista aswell, its CRAP.
your only bet is to find all your drivers, for Xp for the machine you have, before you format.
your going to have to format.
I was pondering creating a new partition and installing it on to that…
I think Vista lets you partition on the fly…
you can shrink the vista partition and install XP onto a new partition.
here is a tutorial: click

I will buy another computer to run Vista on after SP1 is officially released and I decide I want to put money into a good video card and a lot of ram.
I also have some software that won’t run on Vista very well…
my laptop came with Vista, and it crashed 3 times the first month I had it. I called Dell everytime because it pissed me off and all they could tell me was it was a software issue and there was nothing they could do about it. I re-formatted with XP and haven’t had a problem since. i decided to just completely re-format because that way everything left from Vista would be gone, i am not smart enough to figure out how to partition a hard drive without re-formatting, and the laptop was only a month old so i didnt have a ton of stuff on there, so saving it all to a 1 gig jump drive and then popping it back on after wasnt a huge deal. i would just reformat completely if you can.
lol, i bought 4gb of 800mhz ram for $100 on sale @ newegg about two weeks ago.
