more practice sessions.
a convoy up to montreal to pay 40$ for 8hrs on their track (from what i recall, not sure)
competitions are always good
mini series is a definite +
tandem would be for the more experienced drivers, but if the organized ppl would allow it, that would be something cool for the experienced drivers to try out.
but ya, basically more track time for reasonable $ (loving the $100 for 8hrs at shannonville on oct. 28th).
i’d be totally down for more seat time and even going to montreal to go on their track.
I want eye candy girls! you guys never have any  LOL. Not neccessary, but it would be a nice addition.
More practise session, yeah sure
more competition, yeah sure
mini series? care to explain more? I seem to have a different definition of that
tandem… um… too hardcore for me right now, but sure later on when i get better =)
More BBQ like Oct 28th is nice too. More track location and layout for different corners and techniculties. How bout hosting event at the new track, Calabogie or somethign like taht. I also want more video cameraman and photographers taking videos/pics and then actually UPLOADING THE DAMN THING ASAP or at least send it to me ASAP. Oh did i mention girls? lol.
Cage and firesuit? HELL NO. this is only a hobby for me, not looking to get that serious.
Oh I see how it is, my 4point cage counts as a .5 of a cage!!!
From my point of view, having 1 track day per month is good intense training, non stop drift lapping. Mini competitions at the end of each track day are good but it is important to remeber that practice is more important to developing drivers than competitions, so maybe keep a mini competition at the end of every other event in a series of events. And of course, end of the year competition is good…
Tandem sounds good however how many people are ready ? Being able to manji right by the concrete wall without hitting it is a good skill, braking while drifting and adjusting angle and speed as you desire in order to propel your car into the next corner are techniques that I think are basics of tandem. When tandem parallel drifting the driver following behind concentrates on the car in front of them and automatically knows what to do, such techniques are aquired through lots of practice… I think tandem is a good idea for drivers that judges see fit for tandem. Also the drivers should be confortable with the driving style of their partner and should know everything well, maybe even some type of qualifying system. And of course, safety first.
Lots of input on this would be great, im interested seeing what others have to say. =)
yes, we should have videocamera men and maybe for those who are interested, to make a video of the day.
i think that would get the word out more to bring more interested people in.
i posted my vid and i saw a lot of ppl viewing it, and my vid sucked since it was the first vid for me and first for many ppl at the track day including myself. so ya, video camera man/girl is a major part in getting the word out to the public imo.
I wouldnt be opposed to installing a cage similar to vlads. anything more is a little much. as far as firesuits, isnt that a little over the top? i dono, maybe not. once a month trackdays sounds good, mini series im down for. competitions after practise days are cool, but have the days still mainly focused on practise. tire deals would be prime. mount a tire machine in the bed of a pick up or something and drag that to the track.
PS: was that you i saw tonight wayne? i was the white S13 turning left on younge(i think).
now for the side bars… im thinking of making a rol lcage this winter that includes a 4 point cage for the rear half that would be permanent and then have the front half being bolted in so that during Daily Driving i can remove it and then install it for track days. would this be legal? or does it have to be all welded as 1 peice to be legal?
I don’t think drift events mix with drag or lapping very well. I think I each deserve their own venues, there might not be a big enough fan base for drifting yet so I can I understand why people might want to mix them. Fans of each are there to see their favorite type of racing and just focus on that.
Also tandem is where it’s at. Anybody that was at DriftMania can tell you that tandem is damn exciting.
It doesn’t just have to be a VS. battle, in the states they have team tandem competitions (not Formula D) which seems like a cool idea. I don’t think the skill level is fully there yet including myself but I think this is an area things should be heading to.
