driveshaft/lsd swap...

i will be removing the driveshaft from my 89 parts car and hope to install it, along with a used VLSD i have, onto my 89.

i realize this seems pretty straight forward, but i’m under the impression that the two have to be “aligned” properly as the driveshaft is very sensitive to weight and balance. any input?

also wondering if anyone has ever removed/replaced the hexagon shaped weight/spacer from the tranny side of the driveshaft? don’t ask me why, but i removed it when i did my swap and now my car has some serious driveshaft vibrations at certain rpm’s.

i guess what i want to know is can i just take the hex thingy from the parts car and use it with my existing driveshaft (even though the FSM says “do not remove”) or am i better off to not mess with it and use the entire driveshaft from the parts car?
