well, i removed the 2 bolts and pulled down… but the column felt more like it bent rather than dropped.
before i pulled on it it was sitting level to where it bolts up, but now it’s angled down a bit and i really gotta force it up to bolt it back. is it possible to have bent the steering column that easily? or does this sound normal?
I dont think it is that easy to bend man. I have dropped my colum plenty of times, (it comes down a few inches) but take a look at it. It is a thick bar, and probably has not bent. Push it back up and bolt it in (yes it seems stiff to go back in).
If you want double check to see if you realy did mess anything up by looking at the column inside the car, and in the engine bay at the firewall. GL
I am assuming you removed the two 12 mm bolts just behind the dash, there are two more that mount it up near the steering knuckle. These ones bolt the column to a sheet metal bracket. This brachet is what is creating resistance (you are trying to bend it back to its proper position).
So, like Mr_zero said, just push it back up and bolt her in.
