Dunnville Evening Sept. 8th

My club, Western Ontario Sports Car Association, is holding a lapping evening at Dunnville on Friday Sept. 8th from 4-8 pm.

The official flyer is here: http://www.wosca.com/Event_info/Dunnville-2006-Sept.htm

The cost is $65 at the track or $60 in advance (less for WOSCA members). I will try and make arrangements for people to pay someone from this club for advance payments. BTW it’s more than what Derek charges because we are paying for insurance.

There a couple of extra regulations for our organization. You must have a Snell approved helmet (a limited number of loaner helmets are available) and convertables must have a CASC approved roll-bar (contact me to find out if your bar is legal). The reasons for the extra rules are because of our insurance, and WOSCA is a fully sanctioned club through CASC-OR and the event will be fully insured for liabillity.

(if you want to post this on other webboards link to the official flyer above in your post).

Just so I understand, who does the insurance protect?

If someone crashed at derek’s event last night broke their neck, killed a dude at the side of the track and wrote off their car - who would have been responsible?

Both the driver and Derek.

The insurance protects the organizers from being sued if something goes wrong. There is no protection for anyone on the car, but if there is a lawsuit because of injury then the insurance provides an umbrella to protect the organizer. This is better for attendees too since instead of sueing you they’ll sue us. If they sue you they won’t get anything (unless you’ve got millions of dollars sitting around) if they sue us the insurance company will pay out (assuming they win). So they’re going to sue us.

Do you accept EMT payments ?

Thanks for the clarification

I think the extra $10 is worth the additional hour or lapping anyway.

they have the advantage with club ins.
if i got the track ins it would be 100 each at least

which is also why i limit the track to 25 cars and only 8 on the track at a time, less traffic, the lower the odds of an incident

I’m not familliar with EMT, and not set up to use it.

If you can provide a link, I’ll discuss it with our treasurer.

We’re probably overdue for some sort of online payment method.

All major banks in canada support them as long as you have access to online banking… check the menu on the left side (at least for RBC, TD and CIBC its there)

For those that want to pre-pay and are in the KW area, I’ll be at the VM meet tonight at the old lulu’s parking lot.

I drive a stock red miata with black slip stream wheels.

OK, I did some reading on the Email Money Transfer. Anyone that wants to pre-pay can EMT me at mmclean.is -at- rogers -dot- com.

You can call me with the EMT details. My number is listed on the official flyer for the event (link in first post).

Be sure to include your full name and phone number, plus a description of the car you intend to drive in the message of the EMT.

Just an FYI you should NEVER email anything that could grant access to money directly. Especially now that you’ve posted it here. Email is sent in plain text and can easily be read by anyone with a little bit of know-how.

I suggest either calling for the password or using another method… even if its not secure. At least that way nobody could likely get both the link to the emt AND the password together. Use MSN, the Phone, PM on SON, whatever. Just dont use anything plain-text for both.

Good point thank you. People send EMT CALL me.

Is this a gripping only event?

Or can we slide around like you in your sig?

Sorry, this is a grip only event.

Update - New Link

The WOSCA site has gone down temporarily. If you need directions or details I’ve moved the flyer to my personal site here:

Still lots of room for those that want to just show up.
