If one really wanted to get the project done properly, it is best to research the f…ck out of whatever you are doing and doing it yourself. This is why I don’t let enybody touch my car, I do the research and build evrything. This includes the turbo kit.
All the shops in Alberta are run by red necks that don’t know shit about cars. I was in one shop getting a couple of dyno pulls and took note of the “custom” turbo kit one of the techs was doing. Holly sh!t, that crafsmenship was absolutly horrible. Worst welds I have ever seen, and everything else that goes with it.
I don’t think abybody has an actual trained professional in any of the shops, not to mention that they just don’t give a crap. You can tell this when you mention the EMS that you want to use…they will tell you that it’s crap…bla bla bla…you should buy this and that. What they really mean is that they don’t know how to tune it, well if you are a shop with a dyno you should be able to tune whatever the car comes with…
FYI, Martin at AFI is the last place I would ever go to get anything done. The guy is drunk most of the time.
You’Ve been in the wrong shops. Just cause someone has a dyno doesn’t mean they know how to tune a wheel barrow let alone a car. Also with all the different EMS systems on the market it is tough to keep up with everything.
