I’m working on a 2004 Cavilier with a 2.2 Ecotec. I have no codes, 45psi of fuel pressure, compression is 120,110,130 and 90. The chain didn’t snap and the gears aren’t stripped on the cam gears. I have injector pulse, but the spark doesn’t look like it’s hot enough. I swapped out the control module and coil packs with another car I have. Still no start after all this. I’m thinking it could be the crank sensor, but I have no codes. Anyone come across this before?
Its common in the ion’s to have a problem with the ignition switch. The ignition switch was used in a bunch of cars, I’m not sure if cavalier has the same one.
It will display a lock icon on the dash, and the car won’t start or crank at all.
a quick and easy way to check if its the crank sensor is sit in the car and turn it over, if the tach doesnt bounce up, sensors toast
Car does crank.
take a cup of gas and put it on the throttle body and let some into the manifold, try and start the car, if it starts = bad fuel pump
edit: didnt see the 45psi of pressure, try it anyways
Is the theft light doing anything? Almost sounds like a passlock problem. Got a 2nd key you can try?
No theft light.
